Users can download a software utility
There is some good news for all Asus Eee PC owners; users can now increase the brightness levels on their netbooks by using the eeectl software utility which is available for download from www.cpp.in/dev/eeectl. This software is used to adjust the netbook’s backlight setting all the way to the "hidden" ultra bright level. As a result, users get almost double the brightness but, running at such high levels of brightness has its pros and cons, like reduced battery life.
Eeectl is a tiny yet powerful program for Asus EEE PC series that runs on Windows and allows users to control & overclock the EEE PC on the fly. Other features include:
· FSB speed control
· PCIE speed control
· CPU voltage control
· Temperature monitor
· Fan speed control (includes user-defined automatic mode)
· Screen backlight control (twice brighter!)
· Highly configurable, hotkeys, etc.
