Gigabyte T1028X is now available

Category: new notebook models

Gigabyte gets a head-start over Asus in terms of launching touchscreen netbooks.

The Gigabyte Touchnote T1028M appears to have been upgraded in the newer version of the Touchnote - The T1028X. Key features of the new model are:

  • ·         Increased resolution to 1366×768 pixels
  • ·         N280 processor which is slightly faster at 1.66 GHz than the N270 which has a clocking of 1.6GHz.
  • ·         6-cell (54wh) battery as standard.
  • ·         Increased Price.

It’s basically a T1028 with HD ready. It offers you the ExpressCard/34 slot, 2.5” 160GB SATA drive. The brain consists of a 1GB RAM. Connectivity will be taken care of by the Multi-Card Reader, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11b/g/n and Wi-Fi provided along with the WiMax. It is lightweight in its design and easy to use with the Genuine Windows XP Home OS. Gigabyte throws in a built-in 1.3MP webcam and microphone as well, although at about 1.48 kg, it is certainly not the lightest netbook around. At about 622 Euros ($883) – it’s not a cheapest as well. However, with the upgrade capability and the touchscreen features you really get far more than any other netbook out there – as UMPC Portal rightly puts in.

So if you’re one of those guys that are not waiting for the ASUS T101H, you can grab it right away in Moblix. Mini-Laptops.nl has it too.
