Super Talent intros MasterDrive LX
Super Talent has now officially added two more models to its MasterDrive series of solid state drives. The new MasterDrive LX should have better resistance to shock and vibration, consume less power, support a wider range of operating temperatures and altitudes, should be completely silent and all that for a reasonable price. The 2.5-inch SSD has SATA 3.0 Gbps interface (that makes it 100% interchangeable with hard disk drives) and has a MTBF (mean time before failure) of over 1 million hours (114 years). These SSDs support sequential read speeds of up to 100 MB/sec, and sequential write speeds of up to 40 MB/sec and come in 64GB and 128GB capacities.
The 64GB model will retail for about $179, while the 128GB unit is expected to retail for $299 or half the price than many other disks. Both models will start shipping later this week.
