HP says it will offer three versions of Windows for the future netbooks.
It’s been long proven that Windows 7 Beta runs successfully on many netbooks, and that also without any glitch or slowing down the system. Now the world’s biggest computer player HP aims to take a considerable bite at the netbook market which reportedly has seen more Aspire and Eee netbooks being ordered than HP’s Mini series. In a conversation with computerworld, Kyle Thornton - category manager for Business Notebook PCs at HP, has confirmed that the PC giant will be selling its Mini netbook line with up to 3 different Windows 7 operating systems. Two of these models are the Professional and Home Premium editions, which Microsoft last week said will be the two primary versions of Windows 7. The last one will be the low-end Starter edition, which allows user to run maximum three applications at a time.
Computerworld has also learned that HP has been testing the Ultimate Beta also, which is otherwise aimed at users needing high performance gaming and multimedia in their systems. HP is offering Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista and a version of Linux with its netbooks.
