Alienware launches M17x gaming notebook with dual Nvidia graphic processors

Alienware, the very name that reminds a user of elite performance based gaming solutions, has just launched the M17x 17-inch gaming notebook. Alienware had been teasing gamers with certain clues about what’s in store for them and was supposed to debut this behemoth at the Computex trade fair which is to be held next week, but, it seems as if the people at Alienware couldn’t wait to keep the gaming cult devoid of this beauty for long.

Alienware M17x has a design that is sure to excite every gamer who will have an option to choose between the sleek Ripley design or the aggressive Skullcap design (with gills). The exterior has a matte black, soft-touch Stealth Black finish which is resistant to fingerprints and minor scratches. It has a backlit keyboard and illuminated touchpad and side grills. The users can easily change the backlight colors between Fusion Red, Terra Green, or Astral Blue at the simple touch of a button. It also has a biometric fingerprint scanner for security and quick launch buttons to enable instant access to the Internet browser, e-mail, Windows Media Player controls and Power DVD.

Under the hood we have an Intel Core2 Duo (6MB cache) processor with an option to upgrade to the Intel Core2 Quad (12MB cache) processor. The M17x comes with a single 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTX260M GPU but can support dual 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 280M GPUs for extra punch. This notebook also has a Nvidia 9400M mobile GPU in order to conserve power which gives the charge to its bigger brothers once the notebook is plugged into AC mains. It comes with 4GB of DDR3 RAM with an option of upgrading to 8GB DDR2 RAM. For storage this notebook has a 250GB 7200 rpm HDD upgradable to 1TB 7200 rpm or a 512GB SSD.

To top it all the M17x has a 17-inch (1920x1200 resolution) LCD display and 6.1 channel audio which deliver a realistic and indulging gaming environment. Other useful features on this notebook are:
