Aspire 1820PT now up for pre-order in Oz
By: Pallab Jyotee HazarikaThe Touchscreen enabled netbook is ready to make an appearance down under
The Acer Aspire 1820PT is an 11.6-inch netbook with a touchscreen of 1366 x 768 pixel resolution that can be rotated around the hinge, and place over the physical keyboard, so as to make it a tablet. It happens to be available for pre-order in Australia. It is actually pretty much like the 1810T, apart from the touchscreen. It is powered by a dual core 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 CPU, GMA X4500MHD graphics, 8GB RAM and 320GB of hard disk space. Connectivity is taken care of by the 802.11b/g WiFi and Bluetooth. Acer also throws in an HDMI port, and optional 3G wireless.
The pain point is it costs an insane 1522 Australian dollars. I hope the cost will be less in US.
