AT&T is adding the Samsung GO to its netbook range

But is the Samsung GO just a renamed Samsung N310?

According to Electronista.com, AT&T IS planning to sell a new netbook alongside their 'DataConnect' service. The Texas-based telecommunications and electronics company, has chosen the newly dubbed 'Samsung GO' to join their other netbooks. The Samsung GO is better known as the Samsung NC310 apparently, which we reported was released earlier this year. AT&T currently offer three netbooks with their 3G  mobile internet package 'DataConnect'. Here are the current netbooks' specifications taken from AT&T's website:-

The new Go will apparently have Windows 7 Starter Edition installed, up to four hours of battery life and 3G. Although AT&T have not confirmed a price or release date on their website, Electronista.com claim it will be available on the 22nd of November.  If the Samsung GO is not much more than a renamed N310, then the specifications are likely to match next week; so what specifications can customers expect from the Samsung GO? I decided to take a look at the original N310 specifications. The N310 Blue can be purchased on Amazon.com for $349.95, with shipping included, and it has the following basic specifications:-

Processor: 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor (533 Mhz FSB)

Memory: 1GB DDR2 RAM

Storage: 160GB SATA Hard drive 5400 rpm

OS: Windows XP Home

Battery: 6 cell, with up to 9 hours of battery life

Display: 10.1" wide LED-backlit LCD, 1024 x 600 WSVGA

Dimensions: 1.1" x 10.3 " x 7.3"

Weight: 2.7 pounds

The N310 suits the range well, yet it doesn't seem to add anything significant to the AT&T package. If the price is relatively low it may be a worthy addition to AT&T's product range. You can learn more about AT&T's Dataconnect service here.
