FSC launches 300GB SATA laptop drive

Fujitsu-Siemens announces a 300GB 2.5 inch hard drive using perpendicular magnetic recording technology.

The new drive, called MHX2300BT will be available in the first quarter of next year.

• storage capacities of 250GB and 300GB
• 4,200RPM rotational speed
• SATA 2.5 and ATA-8 interface, with native command queuing, DIPM and HIPM support, staggered spin-up & active LED support and hot plug provision
• average track-to-track seek time of 1.5ms
• maximum host transfer rate of 150MB/s
• high operating shock tolerance of 300G (2ms)
