The three latest models namely the M1022 Booktop, the S1024 Thinnote and the T1028 Touchnote have been listed in the US official site of Gigabyte.
Gigabyte has announced these three products back in April this year. They have been selling in the European market for quite some time now. Recently Gigabyte made the Booktop, Thinnote and the Touchnote available in Japan and will do the same for American market shortly. These three models among themselves present enough variety to keep you with Gigabyte.
The M1022 Booktop has a 10.1-inch TFT-LCD WSVGA LED backlit panel with a maximum resolution of 1024x600. It is powered by Intel's Atom in two options: the N270 (1.6 GHz), or the N280 (1.66 GHz). The 1GB RAM can be extended to 2GB at the max. Storage provided is 160GB with the 2.5" 9.5mm SATA HDD. It has three USB 2.0 ports, along with Mic-in, Earphone-out, D-Sub, RJ45, 4-in-1 card reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS Pro), Express Card, Docking Port and DC-in. Connectivity is taken care of by 802.11b/g/n WiFi and optional 802.16 WiMAX, along with Ethernet 10/100BASE-T. The 7800mAh 6-cell battery should give a good enough life.
You’ll see the visible difference in dimensions in the S1024 Thinnote with the other models, hence the name ThinNote. The 10.1" TFT-LCD 16:9, WSVGA, 1024x576, LED backlit panel is enclosed in a 250(W) x 170(D) x 20.8(H) mm body. You only have the option of an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz Processor, which has a memory of 1GB. The 1.8" 5mm PATA HDD gives a storage space of 60/80 GB with 4200rpm. It is much lighter too, then the M1022 at about 890g (with 6-cell battery).
The T1028 Touchnote radiates a bit of extra style. It has a 10.1-inch swivel touch screen that provides resolutions up to 1024x600. You will have an option of choosing the N270 (1.6 GHz) or the N280 (1.66 GHz). Other features are similar as well. The TouchNote will provide a 92-percent full-sized keyboard, and a 160 GB 2.5-inch 9.5mm SATA hard drive (5400 RPM), 1GB RAM with Max 2GB, 1.3M pixels webcam and Microsoft Windows XP Home. Option of two types of batteries is available – a Li-Ion 4 cells, ~4500mAh Battery, battery life 4hrs or a Li-Ion 6 cells, ~7650mAh Battery, battery life 6.5hrs.
