After AMD presented its plans for a processor for ultra thin notebooks, Intel also wants to bring such a CPU on the market.
The manufacturer AMD waited a long time and decided not to develop a netbook CPU. They want to develop a processor for ultra thin notebooks instead of a netbook CPU and this will be the AMD Neo processor. But Intel does not want to leave this market sector to AMD without a struggle.
There turned up some rumours on the Consumer Electronic Show 2009 which say, that Intel wants to present a CPU for ultra thin notebooks in this year. This CPU will be based on the current Core architecture and allow to build notebooks with a height of only 2.5 cm.
Furthermore, the new CPU will be also based on a Core 2 Duo Ultra Low Voltage processor, but supposedly it will need less power than the current mobile Core 2 Duo CPUs.
