The new display offers improved resolution
Recently HP had given a slight makeover to its HP Mini 110 netbook. This makeover included two new color options to choose from (White Swirl and Pink Chic) and a Broadcom Crystal HD enhanced video accelerator (with ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre software). Both these changes came at a price of $20 for the new colors and $30 for the video accelerator.
In another addition to the same model HP has added an option of a 10.1-inch HD 1366 x 768 Matte Widescreen Display with anti-glare technology. This new display is quite a significant improvement over the earlier 10.1-inch display which had a resolution of only 1024x576. Although this feature would cost the user $30 extra, but, it is worth it. The new screen is crispier than before and is available only with the HP Mini 110 XP edition. According to Portable Monkey there is a $30 discount coupon available, which would even out the price of the new display. The price of the base model of HP Mini 110 XP edition starts at $329.99. If a user wishes to pick up a colored HP Mini 110 with Broadcom HD video accelerator and the new 1366x768 display, he/she would have to shell out around $409.99 (this price does not include the $30 discount coupon).
