Signify has revealed more details about the rollout of the new Philips Hue AI Assistant. This feature was announced at the start of 2025, alongside other tools like sound detection for smoke alarms and enhanced integrations with Amazon Echo and Google Nest hub devices.
The Philips Hue AI Assistant was released to English speaking users living in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg at the start of June. Now, the company behind the Philips Hue brand has confirmed that the feature will reach UK users at some point in July. Signify then plans to roll out the Philips Hue AI Assistant globally at the end of August, though an exact date has not been provided. Whether there will be support for other languages from August remains to be seen.
This is a generative AI assistant that helps users create lighting for a specific mood, occasion or style. The Philips Hue AI Assistant can either find an existing suitable lighting source or generate a new one based on the prompt. There is support for voice and text prompts, with users invited to give feedback on the suggestions via like and dislike buttons. The company has suggested that prompts could include “Set good makeup lighting” and “Which scene should I set for dinner?”.
On top of this, Signify has announced that it will expand the Philips Hue AI Assistant’s capabilities later this year. Users will be able to use it to create schedules and automations. Plus, the chatbot will be able to provide in-app support. Again, there is no exact release date for these features. The company also recently launched the Philips Hue Play Smart Wall Washer, which will retail for $219.99.
