Fimi Mini 3: Reasonably priced drone from the Xiaomi ecosystem lifts off as potential DJI Mini killer with 48 MP, 4K60 and powerful features
Fimi, which is part of the Xiaomi ecosystem, is now offering a new, compact and reasonably priced drone, the Mini 3, which can also be seen as an alternative to a similar drone from DJI, promising powerful features and a low weight. When using the smaller battery, the weight is said to be less than 250 grams, which is particularly relevant for legal regulations.
High-quality images are promised. The 3-axis gimbal is designed to ensure blur-free shots, even in strong winds and when in motion. A Sony sensor with a resolution of 48 MP is installed, whereby the CMOS sensor is 1/2 inch in size. A special AI-ISP chip is said to have greatly improved the quality of night shots. A viewing angle of 79° is covered.
Time-lapse recordings can be made at a resolution of 8000 x 6000 and 4K videos at 60 frames per second. The flight time is specified as up to 32 minutes when using the standard rechargeable battery, at a maximum speed of 18 meters per second. The drone can be operated in winds up to force 5 on the Beaufort scale.
GPS, Beidou, Glonass and Galileo allow for easy navigation, so the drone can also return to its starting point independently. Various tracking modes are also supported, allowing people to be tracked while surfing or cycling, for example. The data transmission range is said to be up to 9 kilometers.
The Fimi Mini 3 is available directly from the manufacturer at a price of just under $300. Potential buyers are advised to find out exactly what the shipping conditions and import duties are. Delivery is scheduled to start at the end of April. It can be assumed that the Fimi Mini 3, like other Fimi drones, will also make its way to Amazon sooner or later.
