ENGWE has launched the L20 Boost e-bike in the UK and the EU. The model follows the original L20 model with several upgrades. These include a new Boost feature, triggered by a button on the right handlebar, which temporarily increases your acceleration to help you tackle an incline or catch up with someone you are riding with.
Boost increases the L20’s torque from 50Nm to 75Nm, allowing you to tackle inclined up to 17.8% or 10°. The model is powered by a 250W motor with a torque sensor to ensure the engine’s output matches your pedalling power up to a maximum assistance speed of 25 kph (~16 mph). The 624Wh battery is said to allow you to ride with assistance for up to 126 km (~78 miles) on a single charge. Other features of the 7-speed e-bike include Shimano gears, 160mm mechanical disc brakes and a color LCD showing information like your speed and remaining battery level.
The 20 x 4.0-inch fat tire model has a step-through frame with a sea green finish, an adjustable padded seat, accessories such as front and rear luggage racks, lighting, and a kickstand. The model is relatively heavy, weighing 74.8 lbs (34 kg). You can now get the ENGWE L20 Boost with a £150/€150 discount for £1,149/€1,499. A further £50/€50 appears to be offered if you sign up to ENGWE’s email marketing list. The model is expected to return to its RRP of £1,299/€1,299 after August 15th.
