The Casio G-Shock GBA-950 watch is now available in Europe. It was confirmed for several countries in this market in May and was also recently released in Japan.
There are three versions of this new model: the G-Shock GBA-950-1A (black), the GBA-950-2A (purple), and the GBA-950-7A (gray). Each retails for €149 at the Casio online store in countries like the Netherlands, Spain and Germany.
The GBA-950 builds on the earlier GBA-900 watches, which launched globally in 2021. The new model has a more compact design, measuring 48.5 x 43.9 x 16 mm (~1.9 x 1.7 x 0.6 inches) and weighing 53 g (~0.12 lbs); for comparison, the GBA-900 measures 51.3 x 48.9 x 16.6 mm (2.0 x 1.9 x 0.7 inches) and weighs 61 g (~0.13lbs). The bezel and band are combined into one piece, with Casio suggesting that the new design provides a more comfortable fit.
Casio’s G-Shock GBA-950 is suitable for runners, with the ability to track your pace and distance. Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, the watch can use your phone’s GPS for more precise distance measurements, and you can also view a data log in the Casio Watches app. Plus, the data can be shared with Strava, and there is an Auto Lap feature. The watch also supports dual time zones, with a stopwatch, countdown timer and five daily alarms. There are Neobrite elements and an LED backlight to help you read the display in low lighting. It is also water resistant to 200 m and is expected to run for two years on a CR2025 battery.
It is worth noting that the Casio G-Shock GBA-950 watches have yet to reach the UK. A report by G-Central suggests that these products will also be released in the US in the near future with a $150 RRP.
