Casio G-Shock MTGB2000YBD2 premium watch could launch in the US
The Casio G-Shock MTGB2000YBD2 watch could launch in the US in the near future. The premium timepiece was released in Japan in May; in this country, the product is known as the MTG-B2000YBD-2A, retailing for ¥181,500 (~$1,255)
Now, a report by G-Central, a dedicated Casio blog, indicates that the MTGB2000YBD2 will launch in the US for around $1,200 in the coming weeks. However, Casio has yet to officially announce any details of a US launch of this MT-G series wearable.
The MTGB2000YBD2 has a Dual Core Guard structure with a carbon monocoque case with blue-gray ion-plated stainless-steel top bezel and buttons. It is a radio controlled watch (Multiband 6), with Bluetooth connectivity. Through the Casio Watches smartphone app, you can adjust some of the watch’s settings and access features like a phone finder. This watch supports dual time, with 27 time zones on offer and a fully automatic calendar. There is a 1-second stopwatch, a countdown timer and a daily alarm.
An LED backlight helps you to read the MTGB2000YBD2's face in low lighting. Tough Solar charging and a power saving mode allow the watch to run for over 29 months between charges. This is a Triple G Resist watch, meaning it is shock resistant, centrifugal force resistant and vibration resistant. Plus, it is water resistant to 200 m. The timepiece measures 55.1 x 49.8 x 15.9 mm (~2.2 x 2.0 x 0.6 inches) and weighs 131 g (~4.6 oz). Whether or not it will also be released in Europe remains to be seen.
