Casio has launched a new all-white G-Shock in Japan, the DW-5600WW-7. It follows other recent releases in the 5600 series, like the Black and Bold Red DW-5600BBR-1, and the DW-5600KHG24-1, inspired by artist Katsushika Hokusai.
The DW-5600WW-7 is a digital watch with a light LCD display which can be illuminated with a white LED backlight. The casing, octagonal bezel and strap are all made from white resin, with the watch measuring 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4 mm (~1.9 x 1.7 x 0.5 inches) and weighing 52 g (~0.11 lbs). It is shock resistant, water resistant to 20 ATM and expected to run for around five years on the replaceable battery.
Features of this DW-5600 watch include a 1/100 second stopwatch, a countdown timer with a 24-hour range, an alarm and hourly time signals. The time can be displayed in 12 or 24 hour formats, and the calendar is fully automatic. Plus, Casio indicates that the time will remain accurate to within 15 seconds each month.
The Casio G-Shock DW-5600WW-7 watch is now available to pre-order in Japan for ¥14,300 (~$100). Whether or when this product could be released in other regions like North America is unclear. Here, the older DW5600UE-1 watch is currently available for $59.96 at Amazon.
