Bergamont's E-Horizon SUV FS 10 is a new electric bike advertised as an SUV e-bike. SUV stands for sports utility vehicle and is used here to convey the idea that the model is a combination of a (powerful) mountain bike and a trekking bike. Fundamentally, the Bergamont E-Horizon SUV FS 10 is an e-mountain bike with extensive equipment; the frame is the same as that of the Bergamont E-Revox FS series. The e-bike has both a suspension fork and a shock absorber, of which the latter is not normally found on trekking bikes, and both have a suspension travel of 130 millimeters.
A Bosch Performance Line CX motor is installed, which is powered by a Bosch PowerTube battery with a capacity of 800 Wh. A Bosch Intuvia 100 display is on board, which provides data-based information on distance, trip duration, range, speed, time and riding mode. A Mini Remote is also available, which allows riders to access additional functions and use practical features such as the smart walk assist (see here for more information). A classic derailleur gear system from Shimano is installed; the Shimano Cues gear system comes with 10 gears, which should prove useful for a wide range of riding conditions, even without electric assistance.
Hydraulic disc brakes are mounted on both the front and the rear. Further features include a luggage rack, mudguards and a kickstand, bringing the weight to 64.4 pounds (29.2 kilograms). The maximum permissible system weight, i.e., the total weight (including the bike, the rider, the equipment and possible additional luggage) is specified as 353 pounds (160 kilograms). Lastly, an LED lighting system is attached to the front and rear, providing both brake light functions and visibility at night.
The asking price for the Bergamont E-Horizon SUV FS 10 is 5,499€ or 5,099£. However, the model is not yet available in all the countries listed on the manufacturer's website.
