A new version of the Anker Prime 20,000mAh Power Bank (200W) appears to be slowly rolling out. The original portable accessory was released in 2023. Both variants are referred to by the same model number, A1336, and are reported to appear identical with matching packaging.
Initially, the Prime 20,000mAh Power Bank (200W) USB-C ports was listed with a PPS range of 3.3V-11V/3A, which meant charging with PPS was capped at 27W to 30W. This also meant that it did not support Super Fast Charging 2.0 for Samsung phones.
Now, it has been reported by a reliable source on Reddit, user r/N8falke, that Anker has upgraded the PPS range to 3.3V-11V/5A. As such, the maximum PPS charging output has increased to 45W, meaning the Anker power bank now supports Samsung Super Fast Charging 2.0.
It is worth noting that the USB-C port offers a maximum output of 100W but only with the PD fast charging protocol. Unfortunately, it appears that there is currently no way for potential customers to ensure they purchase the latest version of the Anker Prime 20,000mAh Power Bank (200W) at the brand’s online store or at Amazon (curr. $129.99). Presumably, Anker is waiting for its existing stock to run out before officially confirming the upgrade on its website. It also remains to be seen whether related accessories like the Anker 12,000 mAh Power Bank (130W) will receive a similar upgrade.
