Asus has exhibited various gaming monitors at this year's Computex expo, having revealed the ROG Strix OLED XG32UCWMG and XG32UCWG a week or so beforehand with its new TrueBlack Glossy coating. For reference, highlights of Asus' Computex 2025 monitor showcase include the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG and ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDMR, which should surpass the PG32UCDM in three significant areas (curr. $1,179.99 on Amazon).
Now, TFTCentral reports that Asus has informed it that a new 27-inch option is on the way too with a 1440p resolution and a 540 Hz refresh rate. On the one hand, the monitor will represent an extension of Asus' TrueBlack Glossy coating rollout, which the company claims provides a 'zero-haze' that is associated with QD-OLED and WOLED panels.
On the other hand, the monitor will leverage LG Display's new 4th Gen Tandem RGB OLED panel. As a result, Asus' first 540 Hz gaming monitor should deliver up to 4,000 nits (3% APL) peak brightness, or 400 nits across its full panel. For context, LG Display's current Gen 3 panels deliver a mere 250 nits (100% APL). Please see TFTCentral's explainer video below for more details about 4th Gen WOLED technology.
For the time being, neither Asus nor TFTCentral has revealed the name of said monitor, let alone launch pricing. However, the latter indicates that the monitor should be available 'in late Q4' to some extent. Therefore, we may see its official debut this August at Gamescom 2025 before it makes its way to Las Vegas in January 2026 for CES 2026.
