Thanks to the modern SoC and fast charging technology, the realme 9i is an interesting, affordable mid-range phone. The battery lasts for a long time and stereo sound is also provided. So is this a real bargain?

In general, I don’t fully understand the company’s approach to realme 9i positioning, because less than six months have passed since the release of realme 8i. The predecessor did not have time to become obsolete, and we are offered another novelty. And a novelty that has not changed much. Judge for yourself: a different design, a different chipset, stereo speakers and fast charging appeared. But the set of cameras, for example, is the same. They probably shoot the same way. Performance is even simpler, and strange things have happened with the screen refresh rate, and now the smartphone has 90 Hz instead of 120 Hz. At least fresh versions of the software could be brought in… but no. There is a suspicion that it was created to compete with the new Xiaomi smartphones. In terms of parameters, the smartphone is really very similar to the new Redmi Note 11. However, if you abstract from this, then the budget smartphone itself turned out to be quite good. Among its main advantages, I can single out a high-quality display, a very cool autonomy paired with fast 33 W charging, as well as stereo sound.

The Realme 9i is a fairly ordinary smartphone, but it's available at a low, low price – and if that's what's most important to you when it comes to your next handset upgrade, you won't be disappointed about what you get in return for your money with this device. But there are other Realme 9 options among the (vast) range that make more sense.

The Realme 9i is a fantastic value for money Android phone which does the basics in style, offers great battery performance, and the cameras are pretty good too. It’s priced very nicely, looks good, is lightweight and is easy to use. It’s ideal for buyers on a budget, or people who want a reliable back-up phone. That said, the Redmi Note 11 is priced the same, offers a lot of the same features, and if you were to split hairs, you might be tempted by the fact that it has an AMOLED screen, whereas the Realme 9i has an LCD. The older Realme 8 also has AMOLED on offer. It’s also not a 5G phone, and while you shouldn’t necessarily expect 5G support for £200, the Poco M4 Pro 5G does include this, and it’s only about £40 more, so that might sway you. These are relatively small issues, though. The Realme 9i is an excellent budget phone that will more than satisfy most buyers after a cheap ‘n cheerful device.

The realme 9i feels more of an iterative upgrade to last year’s 8i. The 9i sacrifices gaming performance for vastly better battery life and small upgrades like stereo speakers and faster charging speeds. Its pricing does put it in a tight spot, especially since there are 5G phones that are available locally for roughly the same SRP.

Okay, so finally let’s talk about the price. The realme 9i is available for PHP 11,990. And on its own, we can say that it’s a good device for casual use, it has a better and updated chipset, namely the Snapdragon 680 in place of the Helio G96 in the 8i. However, the phone becomes harder to justify as a good update given how little it changes things from its predecessor. The realme 8i might still offer a little more value at the same price for many users.

With a few tweaks here and there, the realme 9i has the qualities of a decent budget smartphone in the Philippines for 2022. The official price of the realme 9i will be crucial in determining this phone is a solid budget contender.

The Realme 9i smartphone specs look a lot like the Realme 8i smartphone. Even the 8i has much better offerings than this one at almost the same pricing. In fact, Realme’s 9 & 9 Pro+ were much more price-effective. Although the prism design is alluring, Except for a strong build, battery & appealing layout, everything else is just average or below. So, if you are okay buying a 4G phone with a primary display and camera under the mid-range, you may look for it. Or if you get discount offers, it can be a fair deal. But there are considerably more promising alternatives in the market including a favorable set of specifications such as the Oppo K9x. So choose wisely according to requirements and needs to pick the best option.

So that's it. We've had our brief little hands-on with the Realme 9i, and it felt a lot like a Realme 8i with a slower screen, worse-performing chipset, but nicer build and feel in the hand. What's more important is that if you're in the market for a phone at this price, you have some good alternatives, even from Realme's itself. The 8i is still on sale and it's the same price as the 9i, which might push many towards that phone - 120Hz over 90Hz alone might make the difference. It's not all bad, of course. The Prism design really is nice to look at and lovely to touch. And with a discount or two, the Realme 9i could easily become a great deal.

All in all, for the price of RM869, I think the realme 9i is a rather decent phone overall. Some might say that it’s a bit more expensive than its competitors but I’d argue that the realme 9i is actually a well-balanced phone in all of the 6 aspects that we’ve talked about in this video. The software experience is important and the realme UI 2.0 is actually decent.

Every year, Realme’s ‘I’ series introduces a new smartphone to the brand’s lower mid-range lineup. This series has previously offered exceptional value-for-money offerings in terms of specifications, design, and build quality. The Realme 9i is the most recent addition to Realme phones, and it hopes to build on the popularity of its predecessor. However, is it good enough to take over the budget market? Let’s find out.

For those who want a solid budget phone under Rs 15,000, without 5G or gaming requirements, the Realme 9i is an option to consider. But the phone becomes harder to justify as a good update given how little it changes things from its predecessor. The Realme 8i might still offer a little more value at the same price for many users.

The starting price of the Realme 9i in India is Rs. 13,999 and this could make it appealing to those on a budget. However, the more expensive variant competes with other smartphones that offer better performance along with 5G connectivity, which the 9i lacks. This new model offers stereo speakers and faster 33W charging, which are upgrades over its predecessor. However, the 90Hz refresh rate is a downgrade compared to the 120Hz display on the Realme 8i (Review). The Realme 9i's camera performance is also sub-par which makes it all the more difficult to recommend the higher priced variant to those looking for an all-rounder. Surprisingly, the Realme 8i offers better features and camera quality for the same kind of money. If you are looking for a future-proof smartphone with 5G connectivity, you could consider the Moto G51 (Review) or the Redmi Note 11T 5G (Review) instead.

The Realme 9i is a considerable option for people who want to buy a big smartphone with a good feature set and great looks at an affordable price. The large display and dual speaker makes for great multimedia experiences, and the long battery life with fast charging is a boon. If you are looking for these things in your next smartphone, there's nothing better than the Realme 9i at this price. That said, the camera output is sub-par and the lack of an ultra-wide camera is missed. The rest of the lackluster appeal makes it difficult for us to recommend it over other "comparatively exciting" 4G and 5G phones available at this price, especially when value for money is concerned. Those looking for a faster refresh rate of 120Hz, 5G networks and better cameras at a similar price range can go for the Moto G51 5G, Redmi Note 11S, and its predecessor -- the Realme 8i, among others.

For a Rs 13,999 phone, the Realme 9i comes across as a good deal. It brings features that are rare to find at this price. For instance, the adaptive refresh rate is an efficient way to consume content on display. By deciding the refresh rate, it helps save battery for unnecessary tasks. And the 5000mAh battery itself is a reasonable assurance that the phone will last at least one day. Then, stereo speakers make watching movies enjoyable. The primary camera is mostly good, too, while the processor is capable enough for light users. Realme 9i is good for everyday tasks, using Instagram, chatting on WhatsApp, and, more importantly, binge-watching. And if these are exactly your preferences for buying your next phone, why not take a look at the Realme 9i?

The Realme 9i ships with Android 11 and the Realme UI 2.0 skin on top. My unit had the December 2021 Android security patch. This phone has a number of preinstalled apps and most of them can be uninstalled. In the brief time I have spent using the 9i so far, I have not faced any issues while navigating the UI, and everything has worked smoothly. The price of the Realme 9i starts in the sub-Rs. 15,000 segment, and here it faces some stiff competition from the Redmi Note 10S (Review), its own predecessor the Realme 8i, and its siblings from the Narzo series. The higher variant of the Realme 9i is in the same price range as the base variant of the Redmi Note 11T 5G which boasts of 5G connectivity as well. So should you put your money on the Realme 9i? Or would you be better off with the alternatives? Stay tuned for the full review, coming soon.

The Realme 9i is not an extraordinary phone but delivers on the basics, offering decent daylight photography, good battery life, a capable screen and rich-sounding stereo speakers. It falters a bit on the gaming aspect, and the cameras aren’t very versatile, but all in all, you should get your money’s worth if you opt for the Realme 9i.

The realme 9 Pro+ is the fastest and best-equipped model in the mid-range series. Thanks to 60-watt charging, fast storage and a fast processor, it does not have to hide, but it also has strong competition. We take a closer look at the smartphone in the test.

Despite this, the Realme 9 Pro Plus remains an unquestionable triumph. Going well beyond its plethora of slick contenders in all the key metrics, there was no doubt that the Realme 9 Pro Plus would instantly earn a recommendation as I closed out this review. With unbeatable performance, staggering stamina, fast charging, a great screen and a class-leading camera system, the Realme 9 Pro Plus is an exceptionally well-rounded handset and it’s one that will take quite some beating in the months to come.

realme 9 Pro+ is definitely a strong mid-range smartphone with a lot of advantages: an interesting design, a high-quality display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, excellent performance hardware, a good main camera with optical stabilization, excellent autonomy paired with fast charging, stereo sound, as well as support for all modern wireless networks and up-to-date software on board. It would seem that what more can be desired? But its price tag, in my opinion, is a little too high at the start of sales, even despite all the many advantages. After all, competitors also have something to oppose to the novelty from realme. Some offer better hardware, a higher display refresh rate, and this smartphone could not do without some small simplifications and nuances. So, realme 9 Pro+ is not yet exactly ‘top for the money’ in terms of price/performance ratio, but just such a solid middleman without significant flaws. In any case, it deserves attention even now, and in the future at a more favorable price it will become an even more attractive option.

On the other hand, the battery is nice, both in terms of capacity and charging. The performance is fine, the screen is also very nice, and the most enjoyable is the quality of the photos, which in my opinion stands out beyond the price range of this model. Taking all this into account, this phone, despite its shortcomings, remains recommendable.

We loved the OnePlus Nord 2, and our only real gripe with it was that mediocre battery life. With the 9 Pro+, Realme gives us a very similar phone, but improves upon the battery life thanks to a more efficient chipset. You still get a glass back and front, flagship imaging and reliably good performance, not to mention very fast charging. The Realme 9 Pro+ also edges ahead of the Nord 2 by packing double the storage. In the UK, it’s available in a 256GB version, and costs £50 less than the Nord 2. This makes the phone excellent value. As for other competition, much of it comes from the Realme camp – the cheaper Realme GT2 Master Edition packs a much more powerful processor but a worse camera. Finally, Xiaomi’s budget brands, Poco and Redmi offer viable alternatives, with the Poco F3 out-classing the 9 Pro’s power and screen quality, and the Redmi Note 11 Pro costing less. Despite all these alternatives though, we’d pick the Realme 9 Pro+ over most of the competition given its excellent camera and ample storage

For the specs and camera technology, it is priced at 23,990 which is a bang for the buck kind of thing. Realme’s mid-range offering with that price point is a go-to in terms of specs with the Dimensity 920 and Mali G68 really stands out in the market today. There is a lot of smartphone industry that now opted for MediaTek’s Dimensity since it is a stronger chipset than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. However, Snapdragon chipsets have better optimizations on most of the games in the market today. The Realme 9 Pro Plus has a flagship design and build but with a mid-range price point which is a win-win situation if you’re a gaming or camera type of person. The Realme 9 Pro Plus camera is something we should consider for its price. It gives an amazing output of images and videos plus if you are a hardcore gamer, it could suit you best if you have a budget playing around with that amount. For the extra feature and aesthetic, you should definitely get the Sunrise Blue colorway for the Light Shift design.

Summing up this review, after having used the Realme 9 Pro+ for over a month now, it’s certainly grown on me. This is not your typical value-for-money phone that prioritizes sheer performance over everything else. And gamers will be better off with Snapdragon 870-powered phones from last year like the iQOO 7, Mi 11X, POCO F3, and such for a little extra money. Still and all, the Realme 9 Pro+ would’ve been an absolute slam dunk if the company had somehow managed to go with Dimensity 1200 or even Snapdragon 870 chip. Also, Realme’s got to sort out all those major and minor concerns I talked about earlier like HDR playback on OTT platforms, future updates, and everything else.

We don’t know what kind of magic Realme is pulling over there. Obviously, the company is just a sub-brand of Oppo, but what Realme is doing with its budget and mid-range phones feels a lot like the early days of OnePlus. But instead of trying to launch in new markets with an archaic invite system, Realme has just exploded onto the scene with competitive pricing and even more impressive results. I thoroughly enjoy using the Realme 9 Pro+, and while I don’t know if I would use it as my daily driver, it’s definitely a contender. Considering that I’m someone who primarily uses flagship phones, it means a lot to me that a phone stood out to this extent. One can only hope that Realme continues to impact the market in different ways, and hopefully, we’ll see the company enter the U.S. market.

To wrap things up, let’s talk about the price. Locally, the realme 9 Pro+ now has an SRP of PHP 23,990 (8GB + 256GB). It got some minor upgrades from the regular 9 Pro version that can cater to specific users’ wants such as better cameras, fast charging, and a more vibrant AMOLED display. Unless these aren’t a big deal for you, then the lower 9 Pro might be a better choice, or yet, you can still even consider last year’s realme 8 Pro if 5G connectivity isn’t your priority.

The Realme 9 Pro Plus smartphone is worth recommending for those who want to buy mid-range phones. The fluid Super AMOLED display, attractive look, up-to-date Android OS are surely a plus point of this smartphone. However, the cons like no IP rating, SD card slot, others make it a bit over-priced. We have covered the disadvantages of this phone in a separate section. But you can consider this phone for its plus points and it might be a great deal for Realme fans. However, if you want to grab the best value-packed option, there are tons of choices offered in the market. Therefore, one must check out the competitive alternatives like the Realme GT Master or Vivo iQOO U5 before making the final call as per your need.

The Realme 9 Pro Plus offers a genuine top grade option for anyone willing to pay up to £350 for their next smartphone – especially if photography is a priority. It might not be as powerful as the Poco F3, and its display isn’t quite as fluid, but its 50MP main camera punches way above its weight. For sheer image quality and low light poise, it fills the mid-range spot vacated by the Pixel 4a. It’s also simply a very well balanced phone, with perfectly adequate performance and an appealing 6.4-inch OLED display. Fast charging completes a remarkably well judged mid-range package.

The realme 9 Pro+ is an eccentric device with its own personality, but that comes at a slightly higher price for a phone with these specs. The under-display fingerprint scanner’s placement is a daily annoyance and the camera’s quality is hit-and-miss in most situations. If you’re on a tight budget and specifically want the phone for the colour-shifting design, the regular 9 Pro that starts at RM949 might be a better option, if you don’t mind the lack of AMOLED or the rapid 60W charging. To be clear, I actually like this phone and think that anyone who purchases it for its aesthetics won’t regret it. The only reason I am not personally recommending it is because I’m a stickler for value, and there are a few options out there that can objectively outperform the phone for the same price.

The Realme 9 Pro is a classic case of a company making too many compromises to undercut the competition. Unfortunately for Realme, those compromises are significant enough to degrade the user experience, be it the sheer amount of pre-loaded apps and ads, the iffy performance, or even the lackluster HDR performance from an otherwise stellar sensor. The secondary cameras don’t really shine either, and the lack of a long-term update guarantee raises eyebrows. Overall, the Realme 9 Pro Plus comes across as a strictly average phone without any standout qualities that put it ahead of the competition. In fact, Realme’s own hardware like the Realme GT Master Edition (£329/Rs. 25,999) offers a more consistent experience for just a little more money, while the Samsung Galaxy A52s (£409) is a more well-rounded phone with a long-term software support guarantee. Meanwhile, the India-only Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge (Rs. 26,999) handily outpaces the Realme 9 Pro Plus with a brighter display, faster charging, and, arguably, a better design.

While the Realme 9 Pro+ and the 9 Pro might seem as though they have overlapping specifications, they clearly belong in different categories, given the brand's hardware choices for both these smartphones. The Realme 9 Pro is priced starting from Rs. 17,999 offers a 120Hz refresh rate display, a 5,000mAh battery, and a 64-megapixel primary camera, which actually make it seem better than the 9 Pro+ on paper. However, the Realme 9 Pro+ has an AMOLED display that can reproduce deeper blacks, 60W charging support, and a more advanced primary camera sensor plus OIS. So, despite their similar pricing, the audiences for these two phones should be quite different. The Realme 9 Pro will appeal to gamers who want a higher screen refresh rate, while the 9 Pro+ is clearly aimed at those looking to shoot better photos. As for the competition, the Xiaomi 11i seems to offer the best value at this price point with similar or slightly better hardware. There's also the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge (Review) which is capable of 120W charging.

So, at the end of this review, we can safely conclude the Realme 9 Pro+ is an excellent smartphone despite a couple of setbacks - but hey, no phone is perfect. Its price is not what we expected. We'd recommend this Realme 9 Pro+ immediately after its first price cut/promo deals go live, and we all know those are coming sooner rather than later - Realme does these all the time. Until then, we suggest keeping this phone on your shortlists and exploring all available offers that fit your budget before deciding on your next smartphone.

I think the Realme 9 Pro Plus is an out-and-out phone meant for photography enthusiasts. Although I do not mean to say this phone will not suit other needs, such as gaming, this phone has everything the shutterbug in you needs from a high-end phone without paying that price. The 50-megapixel camera can click amazing photos, while extra frills such as street mode give you features to experiment with. The optical image stabilisation is what creators will love, while the fast processor will make sure editing is a smooth sail. Those who are not into photography much but want a phone that is fairly good in all aspects will also like the 9 Pro Plus. Its crisp and rich display and stereo speakers will make binge-watchers happy, while games run well enough on the phone if you do not mind graphics settings a notch below the best. In my opinion, gamers can look for a better option, such as the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge, but for everyone else, the Realme 9 Pro does bring a lot to the table. And the fact that it brings all that for Rs 24,999 makes it an appealing choice.

The Realme 9 Pro+ is an example of a phone that needs a second and harder look to really appreciate its value. At first glance, this model seems like a bland handset that relies on a visual gimmick to get noticed, and some people might, unfortunately, stop at that. It would be a shame, though, since the phone really does have more to offer. It might not be the fastest kid on the block, but its camera chops will definitely leave a lot of owners satisfied. It delivers a solid set of features, especially when it comes to the display and sounds, and packs battery life that won't leave you too worried. Sure, Realme could have slapped on a microSD card for good measure or pushed the refresh rate up to 120Hz. But with a starting price of around $240, it's actually not that bad overall.

Compared to its previous generation, the Realme 9 Pro+ is leap and bounds ahead thanks to much-needed upgrades. With a 90Hz AMOLED display offering fantastic handheld entertainment, a speedy MediaTek processor offering 5G capabilities, and a battery capacity that’s made to last, you’d be hard pressed to find an Android smartphone that can deliver this much for a more affordable price. While I wouldn’t call it a flagship killer smartphone on the same level as the OnePlus 9 or Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, it still delivers everything many general smartphone users would want — especially since the 50MP Sony IMX766 camera can take some brilliant shots. The Realme 9 Pro+ makes its way onto our best budget smartphones list, but if you have the extra cash to splash, then you’ll find you may not have to pay much more for some of the contenders on our list of best smartphones.

Priced Rs 24,999 onwards, the Realme 9 Pro+ is a value-for-money proposition in Realme’s midrange smartphone line-up. It boasts a good AMOLED display of a 90Hz refresh rate, 3.5mm audio out port with support for Hi-Res audio, a primary camera of class-leading imaging prowess, and sleek performance. Overall, the Realme 9 Pro+ is an all-round package with something in store for everyone.

The Realme 9 Pro+ is a great camera phone for its asking price of Rs 24,999. While you may get an alternative in the form of more powerful phones like the Poco F3 GT or the Nord 2, Realme has made significant advancements in mobile photography. If a camera phone is what you desire, the 9 Pro+ will undoubtedly serve you well. It gets a lead in the performance department over the 11i Hypercharge and Vivo V23 and is capable of offering a sustained performance. The battery life is at par with the competition and you can get it quickly charged. Though, not as fast as the 11i Hypercharge. Realme has provided a great mix of features that complement each other, be it the 90Hz AMOLED display and the Dolby-tuned stereo speakers or the 50MP main camera with OIS support. All of this and more, make the Realme 9 Pro+ a value for money offering.

The Realme 9 Pro+ has left us vastly surprised! After years of sub-par cameras, Realme finally has a sub-Rs. 30,000 phone that absolutely dominates as far as camera performance is concerned. The night photography performance is splendid and even in daylight, it is going to make a lot of you happy. Obviously, Realme can still tune it better to get the colour science livelier, and maybe make the ultra-wide photos as well as selfies look more natural. Nonetheless, this is easily the best camera phone we have seen at this price in a long time! Move beyond the cameras and the Realme 9 Pro+ is a capable mid range phone. It runs fast and smooth, has a good battery life, a decent display, and fast enough charging. However, Realme UI 3.0 is full of bloatware and adware, which is something it needs to pay attention to. Xiaomi’s older MIUI 12.5 and MIUI 13 are a lot cleaner, and better organised in comparison. And, when compared to the competition, the Realme 9 Pro+ isn’t an easy pick. The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge has its blisteringly fast 120W charging tech that alters the way you use a phone.

The Realme 9 Pro+ has some notable features for a mid-ranger, with an impressive main camera lens, an aesthetically pleasing design, a decent battery life, and user-friendly software. The inconsistent charging and underwhelming secondary cameras make it clear that this isn't quite the flagship killer that Realme is promising, but at this price it was never going to be. For sub-£350 there is still a lot to enjoy – it all depends on what you’re willing to compromise on.

The realme 9 Pro had to relinquish its claim to leadership in realme's mid-range series. It is now a mid-range phone for around 320 Euros with a large battery and a fast processor. But is that enough to stand up to the strong competition from OnePlus or Xiaomi?

The realme 9 Pro is not a bad smartphone in itself, but it lacks a few things to compete more confidently in this segment. For example, 4K video recording and stereo sound. Nevertheless, it’s hard to single out the strengths of the 9 Pro that the others don’t have. So we’re looking at a typical mid-range smartphone with its simplifications rather than a smartphone with some really striking unique features. It has a good-quality display with a high refresh rate, the main camera takes good photos, it has enough performance for games, and it has good battery life and fast charging. However, you can describe other smartphones for the same money in a similar way, I repeat. The only advantage is the support for 5G networks, but you know that they are not yet very widespread. The Realme 9 Pro arguably has a misleading name, given that its camera and performance don’t always operate at a professional standard. Still, it earns its place among other affordable mid-range Androids for a number of reasons, with its enduring battery, enjoyable display and easy software arguably enough to sway users who prefer practicality over state-of-the-art power. Just make sure you check out the competition as there are many great phones around this price point.

The Realme 9 Pro smartphone is a good deal for those looking for a smartphone with 5G support and performance but costs seem to be a little high as per the specs. Also, the absence of IP rating, gorilla glass protection, and AMOLED maybe let you down, but the battery life, up-to-date OS software & speedy chipset are definitely the plus point. If you are looking for an alternative option to the Realme 9 Pro, you can check out the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11E Pro, but the final decision is up to you as per your need.

Realme 9 Pro is definitely one of the most feature-rich Android phones available at this price point. The Realme 9 Pro 5G is a solid option for its pricing, with features like a fast Snapdragon 695 CPU, 120 Hz display, 33W fast charging, RAM expansion feature, and Android 12 out-of-the-box. The camera performs admirably, supports 5G, and outperforms its predecessor. Plus, you can't take your eyes away from its dazzling Light Shift colour-changing design. This phone lacks stereo speakers, an AMOLED screen, and 50W fast charging, yet despite these flaws, it is a good alternative for users looking for a smartphone around Rs. 20,000. Overall, if you're on a limited budget, this is a wonderful option, as it offers everything you might want from a smartphone without costing a fortune. It's an excellent mid-range smartphone.

Realme 9 Pro and 9 Pro+ are two variants of the realme 9 series. Today we will be testing the 9 Pro's gaming prowess as well as its battery performance. Will it perform on par with its price? or will it be a flop?

To wrap things up, the realme 9 Pro is priced at PHP 16,990 (8GB+128GB) and it’s a nice smartphone with an attractive design, a large display, great cameras, excellent performance, good battery life, and fast charging. It provides a huge leap in performance compared to the realme 8 Pro thanks to the newer CPU and the inclusion of 5G. It faces a lot of competition, though, considering there are other devices in the market that also has 5G, has an AMOLED screen and bigger storage in the same price range. But if you like the realme vibe, this one is a performer.

Overall it is good that realme decided to up the ante for a better vanilla version of their device. With this, we have the option to choose between an AMOLED panel or a 120Hz refresh rate display. We will announce its price along with its full review so stay tuned with our full review.

For features like 120 Hz display, fast Snapdragon 695 CPU, 33W fast charging, dynamic RAM expansion, and the latest Android 12 out-of-the-box, the realme 9 Pro 5G is a good choice for its price. The camera performs well, it supports 5G, offers improved performance over its predecessor, and you can’t get your eyes off its shimmering Light Shift color-changing design. You don’t get stereo speakers on this phone, an AMOLED screen, and 50W fast charging, but despite having a few degrades, is still a good option for users who want a smartphone under the ₹20,000 price range.

The Realme 9 Pro is a striking phone, the new design and colourways are modern and make it look like a much more premium device than it actually is. That's not all it has going for it though, you'll also get a clear, bright screen as well as reliable performance. It's a shame that the camera tech has been changed because the 108MP camera on the Realme 8 Pro was its crowning glory, but you'll still get good enough shots on this handset, even though they could be more detailed. All in all, if you're on a budget this will be a good choice, giving you everything you could need from a phone without an eye-watering price tag. It's a solid mid-ranger.

However, the €320 pricing in Europe is just way too much. The current price tag puts the Realme 9 Pro into an awkward position and it's really hard to recommend over the majority of the mid-€300 handsets. It's hard to beat brighter OLED panels and upper mid-range chipsets with an LCD and typical mid-range SoC. It even faces competition from one of its own siblings. It would have been an easier recommendation if the device's screen was OLED even if that would have cost it a few hertzes. After all, the advertised granular control over the HRR doesn't seem to work, and the Auto refresh rate mode likes sitting at 90Hz most of the time anyway. But perhaps the hardware shortage is beginning to take its tow and Realme's uptick in prices for Europe this year is temporary. As time goes by, the 9 Pro may become a more lucrative option but for the time being, we see it performing well only in India.

The realme 9 5G is a very interesting smartphone because it comes pretty close to the much more expensive Pro-model. So does it offer a better price-performance ratio? And what has changed compared to the predecessor? We will clarify that in the review.

Realme 9 5G checks a lot of boxes in terms of what a great smartphone should be. It has good hardware design language, stellar battery life, fairly zippy performance, clean bloatfree software, and a 120Hz refresh rate display. It also has NFC, a headphone jack, and a fast and responsive fingerprint scanner. The camera experience is quite good, there is an expandable storage option available and 5G connectivity is built-in. Sure the haptic motor could be stronger and a dual speaker setup would be nice but overall these are minor issues considering the price. For the price, it is definitely a great smartphone to get. But if 5G connectivity isn’t that great in your area the regular Realme 9 is a great option to consider since it has a better AMOLED display.

Those advantages are not just on paper either. It managed to really impress us for the short time we had to spend with it. The Realme 9 5G speed is a well-rounded and competitive offer that is hard to beat at its price point. The Realme 9 5G is a good handset overall available for a tempting price. The performance standards are particularly high for such a cheap phone, the battery comfortably lasts you through the day, and the screen is pretty decent, too – albeit LCD, rather than OLED. However, while the camera is decent, it isn’t the best around for the price.

The Realme 9 5G looks great with an eye-catching exterior and feels good to the touch. It's well-made both physically and in terms of specs. It's just a bit too close to its Realme 8s 5G and Realme 8 5G siblings to really be anything more than an incremental variation on the same formula. So, you can understand our lack of excitement about this one. That value formula, however, is undoubtedly highly appealing, and with a current price tag of just under INR 15,000 (EUR 185/$192), the Realme 9 5G manages to push the value envelope even further. It delivers a well-balanced specs sheet with plenty of features, including 5G connectivity and the slick Realme UI 2.0, without breaking the bank. In fact, it even goes one step beyond by including a MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G chipset in the mix, which is about as good as hardware gets in this price bracket. A generous and aggressive offer, even more attractively-priced than the Realme 8s 5G and the Realme 8 5G.

Realme has shot itself in the foot with its release strategy, since all of the 9 5G’s failings can be directly linked back to the 4G model. The latter’s superior screen, cameras and fast charging all hang heavy over the Realme 9 5G, calling to question exactly how much you’re willing to sacrifice for better connectivity. That being said, the Realme 9 5G is still an extremely competent budget phone. The battery life is outstanding, performance manages to compete with more expensive phones and the camera is decent enough for the price. If you want 5G on the cheap with capable gaming performance as an added bonus, you could do much worse than the Realme 9 5G.

The Realme 9 5G slots in neatly below the Realme 9 Pro 5G, with a similar clean design and 5G connectivity at a more affordable price point. Compromises have been made in the process of squeezing in that 5G connectivity, as illustrated by the presence of a non–5G model available for the same money. You get an LCD display here rather than OLED, albeit a crisp, accurate, and fluid example. You also get an 18W charger in place of the 4G model’s 33W equivalent, which means you’ll realistically need to charge it every night. Thankfully, a 5,000mAh cell should provide a full day of juice even for frequent phone fiddlers.

The Realme 9 5G is a great budget phone. A good choice in terms of both design and performance. If I were to list the elements of the Realme 9 5G that I enjoyed, I would say that the phone’s display, performance, and battery life were all great. Although the camera’s quality is mediocre, it’s not bad for the price. Some users will be disappointed by the slow charging for that big battery. The lack of Android 12 on the phone is frustrating, but this is a problem with many budget devices. Realme 9 5G, on the other hand, can play most titles at high to medium settings, making it a good choice for gamers. Despite the fact that the Realme 9 5G is not the cheapest 5G smartphone in the Indian market, it offers the optimal balance of performance and networking capability.

The Realme 9 5G has some positives. The performance is not bad for the price—the display and battery life should keep most users happy. And yes, this is a 5G ready if that matters right now to you. The selfie camera is not bad either. But the rear camera delivers an average performance in my view. The slow charging will also be a disappointment for some users. Consider the Realme 9 5G if you are looking for a 5G phone for under Rs 18,000. I would say it is better to get one with extra RAM and storage, though the 4GB RAM option costs Rs 14,999 and does make it appealing. The 6GB RAM+128GB storage option costs Rs 17,499. Other options to consider are the Redmi Note 11T, which has the same MediaTek chipset, and there’s the Poco X4 Pro 5G and Vivo T1 5G.

The Realme 9 5G Speed Edition is definitely more appealing than the standard Realme 9 5G (Review) but there's a considerable price difference. This model packs in a powerful SoC, very high refresh rate display, and big 5,000mAh battery. It also supports 30W fast charging, which is convenient. In my opinion, the base variant of the Realme 9 5G SE, which is priced at Rs. 19,999, is the one to get. This variant does not have many direct competitors and offers the maximum bang for your buck if you're looking for good performance. If you are considering the higher variant for the additional RAM, the iQoo Z5 (Review) would be a better option. It uses the same Snapdragon 778G SoC, but also has stereo speakers and faster 44W charging, for only a small bump in cost. On the other hand, if camera performance is a priority you could consider spending a little extra for the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G (Review).

On the other hand, if camera performance is a priority you could consider spending a little extra for the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G (Review).

Okay, time to wrap up this review of the Realme 9 Speed Edition. As I said in the intro, is this the gaming phone to get in this price range? Non-arguably the answer is Yes! We are thrilled by the level of optimization Realme has done on their end to deliver such an incredible performance. Having said that, this is by no means an all-arounder device. For a more standard workload—think music streaming, taking photographs, or texting—a more well-rounded option like the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus would be a better bet for most.

The Realme 9 5G Speed Edition is not a bad device, but it really fails to stand out in the plethora of mid-range phones we already have. Sacrifices like an ultrawide camera and stereo speakers, which would have been much more useful than the 144Hz refresh rate and the 2MP sensors on the back, leave this phone in a space where it’s hard to recommend to people looking for a complete package. The phone, however, is still one of the cheapest Snapdragon 778G devices you can buy and that is a win. If you seek Snapdragon 700-series performance with 5G under 20,000, you can go for the Realme 9 5G Speed Edition, only if you’re okay with the compromises that it comes with.

Realme 9 5G does a lot of things well, and most things above average considering the price range. And with its more optimized Dimensity 810 SoC, performance has never remained the question. The smartphone has gone under the radar for many, but we believe it truly is a hidden gem which could be just perfect for your everyday smartphone usage. And even if you go for an occasional BGMI game or download some heavy apps temporarily, the smartphone can handle it, although at the cost of heating up. So, if you are looking for a sub-Rs. 15,000 smartphones which can do it all and with consistency, you will be hard pressed to find a better smartphone. It is definitely not a specialist smartphone with an AMOLED display like Poco M4 Pro, great camera like Realme 8i or a gaming focus like Vivo U20, but that is a good thing as people rarely want a one trick pony in the budget segment, and such amazing features cannot be availed without some significant cost-cutting in other areas. Our verdict, this smartphone is truly the underrated budget king.

The 6GB RAM variant of the Realme 9 5G is priced at Rs. 17,499, while an equally spec'd variant of the Realme 8s 5G would cost just Rs. 500 more. The latter would offer better value as it has a higher-resolution 64-megapixel camera and 33W fast charging. The base variant of the Realme 9 5G is priced at Rs. 14,999 and is better value for money than the one I tested. If you are a casual user, you could consider this, but I would recommend you take a look at the Redmi Note 11 instead as it has an AMOLED display, stereo speakers, and 33W charging. It lacks 5G, but none of the network providers in India even offer this right now, so it might not be a massive loss.

The realme 9 5G comes with Android 11 out-of-the-box with older realme UI 2.0 based. You will find a handful of realme smartphones running the newer realme UI version 3.0, including its Pro variant, the realme 9 Pro 5G. Moving to its battery, the phone packs a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging support. The price for the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant starts at ₹14,999 and ₹17,499 for its 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant. What’s interesting is its Ripple Holographic Design, it gives stunning light reflections (Stargaze White) while the Dimensity 810 processor is an upgrade from its predecessor, the rest seems to be identical to the realme 8 5G. You can, however, grab the same 6 GB + 128 GB variant of its sibling realme 9 Pro 5G by adding ₹500 to get better overall specs.

The Realme 9 5G is made of plastic, and while the build quality is fine, it isn't especially impressive at first touch. Unlike previous models, there's no attention-grabbing design flair here. The phone is available in Stargaze White and Meteor Black. The former finish, which is what I have with me, catches the light at certain angles and refracts pinkish-yellowish tones, while the latter is plain and simple. This phone is 8.5mm thick and weighs a reasonable 188g. The rear panel curves on the sides to meet the plastic frame, making this phone relatively comfortable to hold and use. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into a recessed power button which is within reach. You'll find volume buttons and the SIM tray on the left (with two Nano-SIM slots and a microSD card slot). The bottom has a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio socket, and speaker. The Realme 9 5G isn't going to turn any heads in terms of design. It also doesn't have the sort of specifications that will immediately draw people in.

Realme has made a safe bet with its latest contender, the Realme 9 5G. In fact, the handset’s specs are nothing to write home about but despite that, the handset is still a viable contender in the budget segment. While I would’ve liked to see a more capable camera array as well as a fancier design, users opting for the phone will find the Realme 9 5G’s performance, display quality, and software experience up to the required standard. It remains to be seen how well Xiaomi and POCO respond to Realme’s continuous bombardment of products below the Rs 15,000 mark. Do let us know in the comments below of what you make of Realme’s latest and for everything tech, stay tuned to our blog.

The realme 9 4G fits perfectly into the series and is not much inferior to the more advanced Pro versions. It has the same quality Super AMOLED with a 90Hz refresh rate as the realme 9 Pro+. A good main camera that can compete with the 9 Pro. In addition, it boasts excellent battery life. But the performance of the smartphone is average for its class, and this is probably its main drawback. There is also no stereo sound and very limited video recording capabilities.

Arguably, the Realme 9 is one of the sensible options in the family as it runs overall balanced hardware while being one of the cheapest of the bunch. It's only about €20 more expensive than the Realme 9 5G and 9 Pro. Its bright OLED panel, long battery life and somewhat decent camera performance, thanks to the 108MP main sensor, make a pretty strong case. However, the lack of NFC, 5G connectivity and the underpowered Snapdragon 680 will most likely steer away some potential buyers, and the competition can accommodate those needs while matching the Realme 9 4G's feature set and adding a set of stereo speakers as well as some sort of ingress protection.

The Realme 9 delivers in many key areas, offering good photography results for the price, great battery life, and an excellent screen, too. That may well be enough to satisfy many potential buyers, but don’t ignore the downsides to this device. The first is the lack of 5G, and related to that, the handset’s generally underwhelming performance. What’s more, the design of this handset is also a bit on the lurid side. Still, if you can live with these flaws (for instance, if you’re not a keen mobile gamer), and you’re short on bundles of cash to fling around, then this phone is certainly worthy of your consideration.

Both Realme 9 5G and Realme 9 5G India are pretty average smartphones in the mid-range segment. Moreover, there are tons of devices that overshadow this phone. But, if you are looking for an adequate deal, the Realme 9 5G can be considered a good choice as you get a bigger battery, decent performance, and features. But if you look at the downsides, the phone lacks an AMOLED panel, Glass protection, and an average camera. In that situation, if you desire an AMOLED display experience, you can check out the recent release of the Poco M4 Pro smartphone. But if you are in search of something that gives all-rounder features and specs, you should definitely check the Samsung Galaxy F23, however, the final decision depends on your requirement.

Having a 4G smartphone in 2022 is quite rare, especially for well-known brands, since 5G is starting to become the standard of smartphones. Well, realme a few months back announced the realme 9 series, and put out some impressive smartphones like the realme 9 Pro, 9 Pro Plus, and the 9i. Each one of them sports 5G connectivity. Well, the realme 9 doesn't; it still carries the 4G connectivity, but in exchange are jam-packed features. It is a camera phone, but can it handle the games that we usually play?

At this stage in the Realme story, we pretty much know what to expect from the brand: solid, unspectacular, good value smartphones, and quite a lot of them. The Realme 9 is one of the latest to arrive, and it offers some appealing features for the very reasonable price of £249 in the UK. It's interesting to compare the phone we're reviewing here directly with the Realme 9 5G – which, as the name suggests, adds 5G. The standard Realme 9 sticks with 4G, although it does have a faster wired charging rate and an OLED rather than an LCD screen. It seems that Realme is trying to cover as many bases as possible. Even just within the current Realme range, the Realme 9 risks getting lost in the noise, and that's before you've weighed it against other smartphones around this price point, like the Oppo A74 5G and the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G. It's a tough section of the market to carve out space in and you could argue that the Realme 9 doesn't quite do enough.

Among all of the realme 9 variants available in the Philippines, the realme 9 4G is the strangest variant in the lineup. Despite offering a 90hz AMOLED display and a 108-megapixel main rear camera, the realme 9 Pro 5G is a better deal for only a few thousand pesos more with 5G connectivity.

Despite the Realme 9 4G’s lacklustre performance, the rest of the package goes a long way to make up for these shortcomings. The AMOLED display is sharp and suitably slick, the main camera is astonishing for the price and the battery life is very nearly unbeatable. Sure, there are some handsets that are better suited to mobile gaming, with some that support 5G, but you’ll be hard-pressed to find a phone that offers quite as many positives as the Realme 9 4G squeezes in for this price.

The arrival of the realme 9 4G in the Philippines is interesting, as it aims to make up for some of the realme 9i’s shortcomings with the rear cameras and display. Given that it slots in between the realme 9i and 9 Pro, it remains to be seen how the brand will price the 9 4G to make it competitive against a stacked budget mid-range segment here in the Philippines.

Okay, that brings to me the end of this review. So… do I love the Realme 9? Well, I really appreciate what the company has done with the look and feel of the phone. Despite being a budget device, it has a touch of elegance that you won’t find in many of the competition. It feels good on hand and then you get this beautiful Super AMOLED screen with a built-in fingerprint reader too. And other aspects like cameras and gaming could’ve been a lot better too. So if you don’t care about aesthetics, you can find better all-rounder phones like the POCO X4 Pro 5G (or Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G in Nepal) by extending your budget a little. It offers a much better multimedia experience, as well as superior performance and everything else. However, if raw power is all you crave, then last year’s POCO X3 Pro is still well worth the money.

The Realme 9 is a good £249 phone that’s held back from real greatness by a lack of 5G, mediocre performance, and fairly weak low light camera capability. What makes the phone good? Its screen is pretty much best in class for a compact, low-cost phone. The under-display fingerprint scanner is responsive, and it’s loaded with storage and RAM. The main camera is also great when lighting is on its side. It also adds some standout style choices – you can be the judge of whether they’re good or bad – and excellent battery life to the mix. Movie watchers, file hoarders, and anyone after good battery life or a standout screen can confidently pick one up. The Realme 9 definitely isn’t for gamers or low light photographers. If you can justify spending a bit more, check out the pricier Realme 9 Pro+ if you want a near-flagship camera experience on a budget. Last year’s Realme 8 may be a less feature-rich phone, but its lower price and superior gaming performance could woo gamers. Alternatively, the Poco X4 5G is chunkier and a bit pricier, but offers better gaming performance and packs faster charging,

An impressive display, battery life and cameras make the Realme 9 a solid budget option. But if great performance is a priority for you, your money will be better spent elsewhere.

Maybe. Compared to its 5G sibling, the Realme 9 4G adds a nice OLED panel, an in-display fingerprint reader, Android 12, and a faster 33W charger. These are some solid reasons to get the 4G model, especially considering it costs just ₹500 (~$7) more and 5G connectivity is nowhere near fruition in India. However, all the other aspects of the phone are holding it back. The lack of a stereo speaker pair already puts it behind the competition, and Realme’s decision to use a middling processor (when its own 9 Pro uses a beefier chip for the same price) doesn’t seem right. While giving buyers a lot of options makes sense, Realme has to draw the line somewhere. In the current state, there are multiple phones from the company in the sub-₹20,000 segment, and the Realme 9 4G is probably the most confused of them all. It’s neither fully meant for entertainment (without stereo speakers) nor is it good for gaming (thanks to the processor), and above all, the low-light camera performance is among the weakest on any phone of this price.

Other than the above, the realme 9 comes with other useful features. This includes the under-display fingerprint sensor, 33W fast charging, microSD card support (up to 256GB), and more. Overall, it's a pretty good deal at RM899 for the 6GB variant or RM999 for the 8GB variant. If you need an affordable mid-ranger that looks good and has a high pixel count camera, you might want to check this one out. If you want to know more, do visit the official realme website. Verizon has come up with an exciting offer for iPhone 13. At present, the iPhone 13 costs $699. Verizon is offering a flat discount of $439 on the smartphone to bring the price down to $260. That in itself is a great offer but Verizon takes it to the next level by including a zero down payment EMI (easy monthly installment) where the user only needs to pay $10 per month for the 128GB variant. There are only two rules to avail the Green iPhone 13 price cut offer. The interested shopper will have to buy a new line of Verizon and get an unlimited plan on it. Under this offer, users will have to stay with the Verizon plan starting $10 for 36 months straight. If you want a higher storage variant, they are also available in the iPhone 13 price cut offer. You can get the 256GB variant at a cost of $12.77 per month and the 512GB variant is available at $18.33 per month. If the green color does not fascinate you, all the other colorways are also available in this limited time deal.

I really think that the Realme 9 would have made more sense if the 5G version’s Dimensity 810 SoC could have made its way to the former and removed the need for the latter entirely. Everything that the Realme 9 5G lacks is fulfilled by the regular Realme 9’s specs. There is a much better camera involved, an AMOLED panel that has a jittery 90Hz refresh rate but much better colour reproduction. The charging speeds are faster and authentication is done with a trusty in-display fingerprint sensor. Even on the software side, the Realme 9 comes with Android 12 out of the box while the 5G model is still on the previous version. If only the Realme 9’s performance was better, the device would have been surely a top recommendation in my book. Users looking for a good gaming experience on a budget can certainly do with better devices in the same price range like the Samsung Galaxy F23 (review) or the iQOO Z6 (review). That said, the new Realme 9 does come across as a compelling option that gets a lot of things right.

Surprisingly, it runs on the Android 12 operating system with realme’s latest UI, the realme UI 3.0. The realme UI 3.0 was released a few months ago and a handful of realme smartphones have already received the update, thankfully realme has put the latest UI on the realme 9 whilst the realme 9 5G variants are still on the older 2.0 version. Moving to its battery, the smartphone packs a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging support. The price for the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant starts at ₹17,999 and the price for its 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant is ₹18,999. What we like about the phone is its 90 Hz Super AMOLED, its light-weight and slim form factor, 108 MP camera, and a decent performing Snapdragon chip. You can grab the realme 9 using an ongoing discount of a flat ₹2,000, the sale starts on 12th April 2022 on Flipkart and realme.com.

The Realme mainstream series are known for the overall great experience, and from our first-hand experience, we can say that the Realme 9 5G Speed Edition smartphone does live up to the legacy. Besides this, it’s can be considered one of the best phones under the 20k Indian INR budget. The phone is a great combo of 5G connectivity, impressive processing power, a long-lasting battery, suitable camera result, and a smooth interface layout. Moreover, the single speaker audio output is better than some company’s dual stereo speakers. Overall, if you are looking for a worthy deal, the Realme 9 5G Speed is highly recommended. However, if you are looking for something with similar specs in a bit less budget, the Realme 9 can be considered a great deal.

You can see right away that the Realme 9 5G SE is all about speed and performance. The Realme 9 5G SE is a serious contender with the fastest display within its price range. Those of you who enjoy mobile gaming will find the Realme 9 5G SE to be an excellent choice for them. It boasts a display with a high refresh rate, an impressively fast and reliable chipset, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a battery that lasts for a long time. It has a 5G connectivity, which makes it future-proof also. However, the phone puts too much attention on performance and not enough on the role of the cameras. Sadly, the cameras on this phone aren’t up to the mark. Stereo speakers as well as an IP certification are also missing from the phone. Overall, we’d only suggest it to avid gamers or performance buffs who don’t plan on using the camera much. For people who care about the cameras, there are many other options on the market that can be better than this one.

The Realme 9 5G SE smartphone was announced in March 2022 and the phone attained a rough price figure of $280 (Rs 21,499 in India) approx. The phone carries a 6.6 inches IPS LCD display panel with an impressive 144 Hz refresh rate, and panda glass protection. Moreover, the phone comes with 6 GB/8GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage so that you can store all your stuff without worrying about space constraints. Besides, the Realme 9 5G SE runs the Android 11 OS with Realme UI 2.0 user interface and for the chipset, you will get the 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset. As for the primary camera board, you will get a triple camera setup offering a 48MP primary with a duo of 2MP macro and 2MP depth lenses. You can record 4K video recordings at 30fps with this rear setup. On the front, the mobile features a 16MP camera so that you can click some amazing selfies and do video chats. As for the color options, the Realme 9 5G SE smartphone comes in Azure Glow and Starry Glow colors.

The Realme 9 SE is officially sold in two RAM and memory configurations; the 6+12GB variant is sold for Rs.19,999, and the 8+128GB is sold for Rs.22,999. The device ticks many boxes for this price and lives up to its SE day with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset. In addition to great performance, you get a smooth 144Hz display, excellent battery life, good build quality, and more. So if you are looking for a device for heavy tasks or gaming, you should buy the Realme 9 SE because it will not disappoint you. However, if you are looking for a device for media consumption, you are better off with the Redmi Note 11 Pro/Pro+ as you get an AMOLED display and dual stereo speaker support.

It is clear to see that Realme 9 5G SE emphatically focuses on its speed and performance (it’s in the name, after all). And if it is the pure powerful smartphone experience you seek, then this smartphone is a no-brainer, honestly. However, it does feel that while focusing on the performance, Realme did cut corners with some other features. From a just above-average camera performance to lack of AMOLED display, the overall experience of the smartphone i somewhat reduced. If you are looking for a gaming smartphone or a smartphone which can run some very heavy apps, then this is a really good choice. However, if gaming is not your priority and you are an everyday smartphone user, Realme 9 5G SE is probably a little bit of an overkill and you could easily find other alternatives which focus on either the display or camera as per your requirements.

The realme 9 5G Speed Edition boots with the older realme UI 2.0 based on the Android 11 operating system. Several realme smartphones offer the realme UI version 2.0, however, a newer version of the operating system already exists, a few realme smartphones have already received the realme UI 3.0 update – realme 9 Pro, and realme 9 Pro+ runs on the latest realme 3.0 UI. On the battery side, the smartphone offers a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 30W Dart fast charging that takes about 25 minutes to charge the battery up to 50%. Overall, the realme 9 5G Speed Edition offers a better CPU and a smooth 144 Hz refresh rate that seems beneficial for gamers. The price for the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant starts at ₹19,999 and ₹22,999 for its 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant.

The Realme 9 5G SE is a power-packed contender with the smoothest display in its price bracket. Now, the handset’s design doesn’t feel as premium and the lack of stereo speakers stings a bit too. Furthermore, the unit’s low-light camera performance lacks behind competing products as well. On the bright side, the device offers mobile gamers a solid avenue to explore graphically-intensive titles without burning a hole in their wallet. My only concern is that the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ offers better camera hardware, an OLED panel, and faster charging for just Rs 1,000 more. Be that as it may, if you are looking for a performance-focussed phone with a clean UI, the Realme 9 5G SE will not disappoint you.

The ‘speed' in Realme 9 5G Speed Edition comes from the powerful SoC, 5G support, 144Hz refresh rate, and fast charging capability. It looks as though this phone will appeal to gamers and anyone who prioritises performance over all else. However, the camera specifications are disappointing, and this isn't the best-looking phone in its segment. Gamers might also want stereo sound, which is missing here. There are plenty of options that offer different balances of specifications for under Rs. 20,000, and if you're considering the higher-end variant with more RAM, competition is even fiercer. It should be interesting to see whether the performance, battery life, and camera quality are compelling enough to attract buyers, so do stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for a full review, coming up soon.

The Realme 9i 5G delivers a fair camera performance when capture conditions are good for stills and videos. The device is suitable for the occasional casual outdoor shot or video, but image options will be limited because the device lacks a good zoom and an ultra-wide module. When shooting in more challenging light conditions such as indoors or low light, the resulting images will have a significantly reduced level of detail.

In a nutshell, the Realme 9i 5G is a no-frills, affordable 5G smartphone that should meet most users' requirements in this range. It also gets nine 5G band support, which is pretty good when we look at the immediate competition. Its cameras were surprisingly good, but apart from that, don't expect anything extraordinary. Realme could've used an AMOLED display instead of an IPS screen, which would make the display experience a lot more vivid. I don't have any complaints about the design, as the company is known to go for a flashy look, therefore, to each his own. I'd still suggest users go for the more expensive 6GB RAM variant, since the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage may not be enough in 2022.

The Realme 9i 5G is by no means a bad device, but it has tough competition from Motorola, Xiaomi, and especially Realme itself. For the starting price of Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant and Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant, Realme has cut some corners to offer a 5G device at this price. The biggest disappointments of the Realme 9i 5G are the cameras and charging speed. Realme could squeeze in an AMOLED display, perhaps stereo speakers, or faster charging to make the package more compelling, but there’s not much that sets it apart from the other offerings in a similar price range other than 5G. If you just want a device that offers decent performance and battery life while everything else is just average. Then you can go ahead with the Realme 9i 5G. The Dimensity 810 chipset will not disappoint you in terms of performance.

The Realme 9i 5G is virtually similar to the Realme 9i 4G but gets 5G and a big performance boost at the cost of features such as stereo speakers, fast charging and a better selfie camera. So, if 5G tops the feature list for you, the Realme 9i 5G makes sense in every way. It’s affordable, looks unique enough to grab attention, has a powerful processor that you can game on and has a good primary camera for your daily needs. Though if features like fast charging, stereo speakers and a better display make your cut, you should definitely look at phones such as the Poco M4 Pro 5G, Samsung Galaxy F23 and Infinix Note 12, to name a few.

Let me get this straight, the Realme 9i 5G does not bring a lot of improvements or upgrades over the non-5G version. Realme is just putting its bet on the design factor, which is not the preference of everyone. The performance is decent paired with the 90Hz display. The battery backup is good which adds to the overall user experience. However, Realme has cut many corners just to make an affordable 5G phone. I cannot overlook the slow charging speeds, the lack of AMOLED display and underwhelming camera performance. Honestly, I wouldn’t say that the Realme 9i 5G is the best deal under 15K. There are many more options that you can consider in this price range like the POCO M4 Pro 5G.

For the asking price of Rs 14,999, the Realme 9i 5G is not the most feature-rich smartphone out there. Some of the similarly priced phones such as the Samsung Galaxy F23 5G are available with a 120Hz refresh rate screen and 25W fast charging solution, while the Infinix Note 12 5G sports an AMOLED panel and 33W fast charging tech. That said, the Realme 9i 5G looks the part of a stylish product and the device offers good performance, impressive battery life as well as a decent set of cameras. All said and done, while not the best in its segment, the Realme 9i 5G warrants a second look.

The number of 5G smartphones in the midrange category is rising, the realme 9i 5G is among the latest affordable 5G smartphones with attractive design aesthetics, faster 6nm Dimensity 810 CPU, realme UI 3.0 that offers a bunch of features, smooth 90 Hz screen, and 18W fast charging. Things which we miss on this phone are the stereo speakers, and faster 33W charging both of which are available on its 4G variant (realme 9i). As for our initial impressions, we think, at the price of ₹14,999, the realme 9i 5G is recommended if you are looking for a 5G smartphone in this range with reasonable performance and looks, it has all the boxes checked.

77.53%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
