Yamaha has announced the YH-L500A wireless home theater headphones designed to provide an immersive, three-dimensional sound when the Sound Field function is active during media playback. In Music mode, the atmosphere of watching a performance live is created, while in Movie mode, a sense of immersion with easy-to-hear vocals and powerful sound effects is created.
The 40 mm drivers have a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The headphones support 3.5 mm wired and Bluetooth 5.4 multipoint connections with Google Fast Pair. Bluetooth music streaming uses the SBC and AAC codecs, while voice calls use the aptX Adaptive LC3 codec. A low-latency mode is available for gaming and streaming videos with better synchronized sound and video.
The YH-L500A is designed with a low-pressure headband and soft ear cups for comfortable wear over many hours. The headphones weigh 265 g (9.35 oz.) and measure 174.51 x 188.47 x 84.86 mm (6.87 x 7.42 x 3.34 in.). The battery provides up to 20 hours of runtime and recharges in 2.0 hours. The Yamaha YH-L500A headphones will be released on April 24, 2025. Pricing has not been announced.
