Yamaha has announced the True X Surround 90A Dolby Atmos sound bar, its flagship product for home theaters with 3D sound technologies. It also supports music streaming services and supports whole house audio streaming to linked Yamaha MusicCast speakers. The True X Surround 90A has an MSRP of $3,499.95 and will be available in September 2025 from the Yamaha store on Amazon.
The Yamaha sound bar can be connected to any home theater system using the HDMI (eARC) port or digital optical input jack. The True X can also be connected wirelessly to other Yamaha MusicCast devices to output sound across the whole house. The sound bar supports music streaming services, including Amazon Music, Apple Music, Qobuz, Spotify, and Tidal, using the MusicCast smartphone app.
The sound bar incorporates Surround:AI powered by a Qualcomm QCS407 64-bit SoC to fine-tune ambient sounds, dialogue, effects, and music every 200 msec. It also includes AURO-3D technology to create a virtual 3D sound field from any audio source or play AURO-encoded music and movies with an immersive sound field. Support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X-encoded content is also included.
Sound for the 400-watt system is produced by 12 beam speakers, one wireless subwoofer, and two wireless satellite speakers. The main sound bar and subwoofer require an AC plug for power. The satellite speakers can run off AC power or their internal rechargeable batteries, and they can be used individually as portable Bluetooth speakers with smartphones, tablets, and laptops on-the-go.
