Said to feature Sony Alpha technology, the Xperia 1 II is not due to be released until Q2 2020. However, now camera sensor details for the upcoming flagship have appeared online, and it seems that the Xperia 1 II may outdo some of Samsung's latest flagships on camera hardware.
Alex Alderson,

Announced last month, there remain many unknowns about the Xperia 1 II. While Sony states that the device will incorporate "industry leading Sony Alpha technology" and ZEISS optics, it is still yet to confirm which camera sensors that the Xperia 1 II will feature.

However, it seems that someone has gotten their hands on a prototype or an engineering sample and has run Device Info HW to determine what sensors the Xperia 1 II has. According to the photos below, republished by Android next and GSMArena, the Xperia 1 II contains the following camera sensors:

Sensor name Camera type Megapixel count Aperture
Sony IMX363 Ultra-wide-angle 12 MP f/2.2
Sony IMX557 Main rear-facing camera 12 MP f/1.7
ISOCELL S5K3T2 Telephoto 12 MP f/2.4
ISOCELL S5K4H7 Front-facing 8 MP f/2.0

GSMArena speculates that the IMX557 will likely share a few characteristics with the IMX555 found in the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 Plus. However, there is no evidence to suggest that is the case as Sony is yet to publish any details about the IMX557.

The Xperia 1 II appears to have UFS 3.0 storage, too. Sony has confirmed that it will be releasing the Xperia 1 II in Q2 2020.
