Xiaomi's Black Shark announces an EU launch date for its 3 series
Xiaomi's gaming-focused brand Black Shark initially introduced its 3rd-gen flagships earlier in the year. Now, it is ready to expand their availability further by offering them for sale in Europe. It has announced that the necessary new listings on its EU website will go live from May 8, 2020.
These pages should be for the Black Shark 3 and 3 Pro, which are Snapdragon 865 devices that run on JoyUI based on Android 10. They also offer class-leading 65 watt (W) charging and up to 7.1-inch 1440p displays; however, those looking for cutting-edge refresh rates may be slightly put off: Xiaomi has stuck with 90 hertz (Hz) in these new gaming phones.
The company has not yet revealed how much the Black Sharks 3 will cost in their new market. They did start at ~US$500 for the vanilla model or closer to $700 for the Pro variant. However, the brand's EU fans can bide their time participating in new competitions set up with prizes that include vouchers that confer discounts on the phones or on matching accessories such as the FunCooler Pro.
