Xiaomi's gaming-focused series of phones, Black Shark, run on an Android skin called JoyUI. Today (April 28, 2020), its latest stable version will start to appear as an OTA worldwide. This will occur on the brand's 2020 flagships, the 3 and 3 Pro, as well as their predecessors.

Black Shark has announced the availability of a new software update. It upgrades the 3, 3 Pro, 2 Pro and 2 models from this series to JoyUI 11. This ROM is based on Xiaomi's MIUI 11, which is based in turn on Android 10

The update includes a new version of Shark Space (3.0), a dedicated gaming area of these phones' UI. It involves new optional in-game effects and Shark Arsenal, a specific set of screens that manage any of this line's branded accessories within range of the phone in question.

JoyUI 11 also comes with app-level upgrades and augmentations, which include a new Cast feature, wireless printing compatibility, an improved file manager that sorts according to type, as well as Mi Account and Mi Cloud integration (this last may apply to the 3-series devices only).

Finally, the new version of JoyUI adds Always-on Display, swipe-based gesture and dynamic sound (e.g. alarms that change every day) options. Black Shark projects that all devices eligible for this update worldwide will have received it between now and May 6, 2020.
