Xiaomi may have just announced the Mi 11 globally, but a Google Play Console listing suggests that the company has another gaming smartphone in the pipeline. The listing refers to the device in question as the PRS-A0, its model name, and penrose, its codename.
The PRS-A0 is expected to launch as the Black Shark 4 Pro and will be a more premium version of the Black Shark 4, on which we have already reported. According to the Google Play Console, the PRS-A0 has 12 GB of RAM and a 2,400 x 1,080-pixel display with a pixel density of 440 DPI. An FHD+ display would be a step down from the QHD+ one with which Xiaomi equipped the Black Shark 3 Pro, though.
The device also runs Android 11, so it should receive OS updates to at least Android 13. The Google Play Console states that the PRS-A0 has an SM8250 chipset too, which is the codename for the Snapdragon 865. However, this may well be a typo, as we doubt that Xiaomi would use the Snapdragon 865 in a 2021 gaming smartphone. Incidentally, the Snapdragon 888 is also known as the SM8350, so SM8250 may be a mistake. Similarly, the listing refers to the device's GPU as the Adreno 650, which would be the Adreno 660 if the Snapdragon 888 is onboard.
Finally, the listing contains a render of the device, revealing a few aspects about the upcoming gaming smartphone. As far as we can tell, the PRS-A0 has a punch-hole for a front-facing camera and shoulder buttons, along with the usual power button and volume rocker combination. The Google Play Console listing does not reveal any other details about the PRS-A0, but the device's appearance there suggests that it should be close to release.
