Xiaomi has updated its Poco tablet series with the Pad X1, which joins the Poco Pad M1 alongside the Poco F8 Pro and the Poco F8 Ultra during a global launch event. Following on from last year's Poco Pad and Poco Pad 5G, the Poco Pad X1 drops to an 11.2-inch display but with an increased resolution of 2,136 x 3,200 pixels, yielding a 345 PPI pixel density.
Not only does the Pad X1 resolve at a higher resolution than its predecessors, but it also delivers a 144 Hz refresh rate for supported apps, up from 120 Hz in the Poco Pad and its 5G counterpart. Moreover, the tablet boasts 800 nits peak brightness, a 33% increase on Xiaomi's older tablets, as well as a Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 chipset that it shares with the Xiaomi Pad 7 (curr. $380 on Amazon).
According to our benchmarks, the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 should provide a 60% performance uplift over the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 inside the Poco Pad and Poco Pad 5G. While the Poco Pad X1 also features an 8,850 mAh battery within its 251 x 173 x 6.18 mm and 500 g housing, it lacks any cellular connectivity to speak of. Instead, the tablet makes do with Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, as well as NFC tap-to-share functionality.
The Poco Pad X1 retails for $399 but drops to $349 as part of Xiaomi's Early Bird campaign. Meanwhile, the company's Floating Keyboard accessory is a further $199, with can be paired with Xiaomi's Focus Pen that costs $99 itself. Alternatively, the Pad X1 Cover and Pad X1 Keyboard retail for $49 and $129, respectively. Please see Xiaomi's website for more details.
