Xiaomi launches new affordable smart band with bright AMOLED display and 21-day battery life

Xiaomi has now opened pre-orders for the Smart Band 11, and, as a recent report hinted, the new fitness tracker is indeed available in four different versions. Among them, one comes with NFC, offering the ability to make offline payments and add digital cards.

A new addition to the lineup is the "All-metal" one, which Xiaomi has yet to share details on. It's expected to have more metal than plastic on the chassis than the regular version, which could make it feel more premium, similar to the "Ceramic Edition" that the company offers.

Speaking of which, the new Smart Band 11 retains the "Ceramic Edition," and it happens to be priced similarly to the "All-metal" version. Moving beyond the editions, the brand-new fitness tracker doesn't bring many changes to the table.

Just like the Smart Band 10, it comes with a 1.72-inch AMOLED display, and Xiaomi highlights the same 2mm "ultra-narrow" bezels. Of course, it did see an upgrade in terms of the peak brightness rating, with the display of the newer model being rated for 2,000 nits instead of 1,500 nits.

The overall build seems to have changed, with the Smart Band 11 marketed as 9.9mm slim. There's a reduction in terms of weight as well, with Xiaomi claiming it to weigh 15.58 grams (0.54oz). To look back, the standard version of the Band 10 (available on Amazon) is marketed to weigh 15.95 grams (0.56oz) without the strap, and it's said to be 10.95mm thick.

During the initial unveiling, Xiaomi also highlighted that the new smart band can offer a comprehensive health monitor and has "professional sleep management" functionality. Other highlights include a 21-day battery life rating, HyperOS 4, 5ATM waterproof rating, and compatibility with the Apple ecosystem.

In China, the standard version has a pre-order price of CNY 289, about $43, while the NFC version costs CNY 399, around $50. The "All-metal" and Ceramic editions, on the other hand, go for CNY 339, about $59.
