Early information about Xiaomi's next Redmi Pad tablet has emerged online. Currently thought of as the Redmi Pad 2 Pro not the Redmi Pad Pro 2, the tablet is expected to replace the Redmi Pad Pro with a Qualcomm chipset that should make it about as powerful as the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus and Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus.

Xiaomi is expected to introduce a wave of new tablets towards the end of the year after releasing the likes of the Pad 7, Pad 7 Pro and Redmi Pad 2 (curr. $184.99 on Amazon) globally a few months ago. For instance, the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro are believed to be launching next month in China alongside the Xiaomi 16 series.

Meanwhile, it seems that Xiaomi also hopes to expand its Redmi Pad range with another second-generation model. To recap, leakers like Digital Chat Station have been speculating about the existence of a new Redmi Pad tablet for a few weeks. As it stands, the tablet is anticipated to launch as a Pro version of the Redmi Pad 2, rather than a second-generation Redmi Pad Pro.

As a result, the unreleased tablet is currently referred to as the Redmi Pad 2 Pro rather than the Redmi Pad Pro 2. Setting naming aside, recent HyperOS code changes apparently indicate that the Redmi Pad 2 Pro utilises a Qualcomm SM7635 chipset as a way of distinguishing it from its Qualcomm SM7435 (Snapdragon 7s Gen 2) powered predecessors.

Unfortunately, Qualcomm uses the SM7635 part number for both the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. Thus, it is unclear whether the Redmi Pad 2 Pro will arrive with which chipset. Likewise, other details about the Redmi Pad 2 Pro also remain unknown for now, such as its design, pricing and availability.
