I’m having a hard time thinking of any serious drawbacks to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, unless you have an aversion to the company’s cartoony MIUI Android skin. Yes, we don’t have a UK price yet, but assuming it’s under £300 – as it should be given the US RRP is $279 – then it’s a fantastic pick with decent performance, an incredible screen and superb photographic abilities. The only fly in the ointment is the fact that Xiaomi’s Poco X3 NFC sells for at least £100 cheaper, and it has exactly the same processor and RAM. I think, however, that there’s enough here to justify the extra expenditure thanks to its wonderful camera and silky smooth 120Hz AMOLED screen. If you’re concerned about the lack of 5G, you may fancy the Motorola Moto G 5G Plus for around the same price, and it does offer slightly better in gaming performance to boot – albeit with a cheaper feeling build, and “just” a 90Hz screen. If 5G isn’t a necessity, however, then the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro is definitely the phone for you.

Redmi has a solid offering in the Note 10 Pro. It covers the basics and then some. As the popular choice of the Note 10 family, it stands out thanks to its well-rounded design, surprisingly strong spec sheet, and impressive bang for your buck. Pros for this phone include user-friendly design elements, such as stereo speakers, support for dual-SIM cards and a memory card at the same time, as well as a headphone jack and Gorilla Glass 5. The Redmi Note 10 Pro also scores well when it comes to display quality and responsiveness. Likewise, battery life is good and the 33W charging is a step up over the Redmi Note 9 Pro. Cons for the Note 10 Pro include the MIUI 12.5 user interface skin. The camera is plenty versatile and overall adequate, but it can’t match the Pixel 4a. And while it manages everyday usability with ease, the mid-range processor doesn’t deliver scorching performance. Overall, the Redmi Note 10 Pro is a strong offering and a compelling choice for an upper-budget smartphone.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro is a very worthy successor to the Redmi Note 9 Pro, and an intriguing alternative to the Poco X3 Pro. After having used it for an extended period of time, we also see why Xiaomi thought about discontinuing the Poco X3 NFC - the Redmi has the same SoC, a similar price, but a much better screen and main camera. As we said above, if you value sheer performance above all else (and are on this budget), go for the Poco X3 Pro. If you value the screen quality and camera image quality more, then the Redmi Note 10 Pro is the one for you. Few phones at any price point have ever offered so much value for money. Xiaomi has always been known for this, and the Redmi Note 10 Pro, just proves that the company continues to be the king of value.

It’s hard to grumble when your £239 phone takes such excellent photos. The fact that the Redmi Note 10 Pro’s screen is also best in class, its stereo sound is great for the price and it lasts ages (plus charges quickly) easily clinches it the title of best budget smartphone. There really is nothing out now that comes close – unless you need an iPhone, top-tier gaming power or just love spending money. So if you’re on the hunt for an affordable powerhouse handset, the Note 10 Pro should be high on your list in 2021.

Take a look: it has a fairly powerful processor, a decent battery and fast charging, and a power adapter is included. It also has an AMOLED screen, a minijack and a triple card slot. In addition, there is a 120 Hz image refreshment, a 108 megapixel camera that gives good photos during the day and decent at night, and also a great macro camera. I rarely write this, but currently it is a model with one of the best quality and price-performance ratios. Spending 230 euros on it, you will not be disappointed. Of course, I suggest buying the top version with 8 + 128 GB memory.

If you consider yourself a savvy smartphone owner, don’t mind Chinese brands and place an emphasis on screen quality, the Redmi Note 10 Pro comes highly recommended. For some reason it wants to read your fingerprint for even the most casual of glances, prompting a pin code or pattern in order to unlock, but at the price, this is one issue that is easily forgiven. At the midway point of 2021, it is Xiaomi that’s laid down the gauntlet to other mid-rage phone makers with the Redmi Note 10 Pro.

Finally, I want to praise the vibration of the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Its X-axis vibration motor is almost the best among several new models of Redmi this year. I personally feel that vibration feedback is the best. Not as strong as possible, but to present a precise sense of vibration through vibration. The clean vibration feedback and the vibration shape that can be clearly distinguished in various situations are the meaning of the linear motor. We've had to pinch ourselves a few times over the cost of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro. If Xiaomi were real 'business people' they'd slap at least £400 more on to the final price. You can get the 64GB option in the UK for just £249, or 128GB for £269. Crazier still, both can be had with an early bird discount of around £20. It almost seems too good to be true; a £219 smartphone with a 120Hz screen, a 108MP camera and a luxurious design. There literally isn't another smartphone that can offer the same specs for less than £300 (possibly even £400). The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro really is the greatest budget smartphone of all time.

Yes, I know, this phone is more expensive than the POCO X3 Pro but the POCO X3 Pro focuses solely on performance and not so much on the cameras. Also, the POCO X3 Pro uses an IPS LCD screen – and that means you can get the Redmi Note 10 Pro for a 120Hz Super AMOLED screen at more or less the same price point but at the cost of performance.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro that I am talking about also makes an appearance in India as the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. In the Indian market, this phone achieves a whole lot under ₹20,000 (~$275), reminding us of the high value-for-money quotient that its predecessors like the Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 7 Pro brought along. As it stands right now for that particular market, the phone props up as a de facto choice, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it remains sold out for its first few sales. India’s market sees cutthroat competition, and there’s bound to be an answer from competitors in the coming weeks and months. But until then, the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is a great choice in the mid-range. The brand has managed to build immense goodwill under the “Redmi Note” branding, and with a high value-for-money quotient, it looks like they have another winner in their hands.
