Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy A52
Those who can live without 5G will be able to get the Samsung Galaxy A52 for about 70 Euros (~$85) less, depending on the configuration. While there is still an older SoC, the option to choose between two storage configurations continues to be available. Our test evaluates the capabilities of the more powerful of the two.

For us, the Samsung Galaxy A52 is a good all-rounder smartphone. It has a decent quality on its camera and it just needs optimization. It also has average gaming performance even though the chipset isn’t capable of connecting to 5G. But the best offering is the display and the aesthetic and pleasing look which is great for entertainment use. 100 Days Review: We haven’t encountered any issues for around 3 months of use, and the device is stable and working fine as a daily driver. I won’t recommend the device if you are aiming for a mid-range gaming-focused smartphone, but if you are looking for a long-term device with the promise of android support for more than a couple of years, this will be a great option. Samsung Galaxy A52 is priced at P18,990 for the same 8GB + 128GB configuration. For the price, it really offers value with a couple of drawbacks but with strong upsides. The increments compared to its predecessor is very notable and worthy.

The A52 is $100 more expensive than the A51 was at launch. For that hundred bucks, you're getting an overhauled design, a better processor, more RAM, faster display, and IP67 water resistance (the A51 didn't have any official rating). That's a lot of improvement. In the grand A-series tradition, the A52 is another competent mid-range Samsung phone in a long line of competent mid-range Samsung phones. But I would've liked to see some tweaks to either hit a lower price or allocate more budget to the A52's weaker points — dropping the two useless camera modules and swapping out the 120Hz panel for a 90Hz one, for instance.

This is the Galaxy A52, Samsung’s top of the line mid-ranger, which on my book is maybe the best update the company has brought to the series. See, price and features are all nice things to have, but if you can add a bit of style to the package, I think the premise can go farther. This is the latest Samsung offering to cross my desk, my unit has a matt sky blue back, a shiny slightly darker blue sides and a very shiny front. There are a vertical line of three cameras top left of the back and a forth camera and LED flash beside these.

All of which makes it appear as if the Galaxy A52 will have a tough time repeating the bestselling achievements of its predecessor. It is a very good option for those who want a phone that looks different and performs well but starts fading the moment the spec sheet comparisons come into play. The Galaxy A52 ticks a lot of boxes but does not really top the class in any significant department.

At the end of the day, I’m pretty impressed by what the Galaxy A52 has to offer. Sure there are quite a few smartphones from Chinese brands that deliver better specs at the same price, but if you’re in the US, the only real option that might be better at $500 is the Pixel 4a 5G. There’s a noticeable gap in performance and camera quality between this phone and the Galaxy S21, but the $300 price difference definitely makes up for it, especially when you consider the improvements the A52 offers over last year’s model.

And finally – the price. At RM1,499, I think that the Galaxy A52 is rather pricy, yes – so maybe wait until there’s a free gift bundle promotion. Truthfully speaking, both the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 are pretty much the most balanced smartphones – in all aspects – at their own price range.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 is a decent smartphone for its asking price but leaves a lot to be desired especially since you’re spending upwards of Rs 25,000. It does give users a viable alternative in the face of OnePlus Nord and the likes but does little to stand out in the crowd. It looks good in the hand and the matte finish on the back steers it clear of fingerprints and smudges. However, the biggest gripe is the fact that while the A52 supports 25W fast charging, Samsung wants users to pay for an additional adapter.

The Galaxy A52 is an interesting device given that it has two versions in the Philippine market. The one that we have is the 4G version that is priced at PHP 18,990, while the other is the 5G version with a more powerful chipset, higher refresh rate, and 5G connectivity for a more expensive PHP 23,990. Is it a good upgrade to the Galaxy A51? Yes, it is. Should you get one? If you’re okay not having the bells and whistles of the Galaxy A52 5G, and have a lower budget, then we think it’s a good buy. But if you really need 5G and a better performing chipset at this budget, we think you’re better off looking for a better option.

With the Galaxy A52, Samsung is not trying to do something entirely different apart from revisiting the spec-sheets that have worked for the company. This is a reliable daily driver and the promise of software update for three years makes the deal sweeter. Having said that the price is a bit high when compared to other brands offering similar features in phones under Rs 20,000. But then as said above, this is where Samsung’s brand value and build quality comes in.

In sum, the Galaxy A52 is a good device overall, but one that could have been better. That statement can actually be applied to anything and everything, but Samsung could have done well to include a faster processor, and some basic essentials like a 25W charger (since the phone supports it), and a case in the box. The 5G version of the Galaxy A52, which hasn’t been launched in India yet, does come with a 5G-capable Snapdragon 750G SoC and a 120Hz display, which are specs that sound much better on paper as compared to what the 4G version of the Galaxy A52 offers. When it comes to rivals, the Galaxy A52 goes up against the likes of the OnePlus Nord (review), the Xiaomi Mi 10T, the Mi 10i (review), and others in its price segment. Each of these devices has its own set of pluses and minuses, and in most cases, offers better performance than the Samsung Galaxy A52. On the other hand, the Galaxy A52 does feature IP67 waterproofing, which could appeal to a fair chunk of prospective buyers.

Priced Rs 26,499 onwards, the Samsung Galaxy A52 is an all-round midrange smartphone with something in store for everyone. It boasts a good sAMOLED display of 90Hz refresh rate, loud and clear stereo speakers, 3.5mm audio out port for wired earphones, a capable camera system, and sleek performance. Except for the IP67 protection and camera system with OIS, there is nothing new that the Galaxy A52 brings to the table when compared with other smartphones in the midrange segment. Therefore, it might not be the best midrange smartphone but the best in Samsung's line-up.

The Galaxy A52 has so many quality of life changes from its predecessor and checks many of the boxes that we’ve wanted to see from Samsung mid-rangers. You still have their beautiful display that has been improved with a higher refresh rate plus the addition of stereo speakers just ups the enjoyment with this device.

The Galaxy A52 is a good-looking smartphone and brings IP67 water and dust resistance rating to the table, which most of its competition miss out on. Sadly, apart from this, not a lot of things are in its favour. It does certain things well but the competition does them better. The Galaxy A52 does not offer the best performance and doesn't have the best cameras. However, it will appeal to the design-conscious, and if you are a bit clumsy, the water resistance is a big plus.

In our opinion, the Galaxy A52 is a much better pick than the Galaxy A72 as both of them have almost everything in common except a camera sensor, and display & battery size. The Galaxy A72 is also a decent phone but at that price, you have better options and even the differences between the two are not worth spending Rs 8500 more on the Galaxy A72.

Overall, the Galaxy A52 is a decent mid-range phone except for its occasional stutters. The phone also has a lot to offer in terms of display, cameras and battery life. Galaxy A52 will most likely be a no brainer for Samsung fans seeing how the Galaxy A51 was a best-seller. But those looking for better value-for-money options can definitely consider checking out Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, and Realme X7 5G.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 is quite an interesting smartphone. For RM1,499, you get 4 years of guaranteed software support, an experience that is typically reserved for their more premium smartphones. You get decent build quality, punchy colours on the display, 90Hz refresh rate, a good camera system, IP67, stereo speakers, headphone jack is included, and a pretty solid battery life.

There's honestly very little to actually criticize about the Galaxy A52. Sure, the Snapdragon 720G is not the quickest chip around, but it doesn't seem to be holding back the experience in any practical way. Samsung's "Awesome is for everyone" slogan actually rings very true here. We, for one, are on board and give the A52 a hearty recommendation.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 brings many improvements over the older generations. While the hardware gets a major upgrade, the smartphone’s software experience is likely to drive many users looking for a long-lasting phone that can replace their old iPhone SE’s and XR’s. The improved experience includes a superior display, better cameras, and fast charging. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 720G chipset brings improved performance, better thermal stability, and support for the Google Camera mod compared to counterparts in the Exynos family.

You are probably eyeing a flagship smartphone for months but have no budget to spend Rs 80,000 on a phone, especially during the pandemic. But the fact is there is no need to spend a ridiculous amount on a smartphone when you get a much capable phone for way less. Samsung’s new Galaxy A52, even though a premium mid-range phone, offers pretty much every feature you would wish to get in a high-end phone including a high refresh rate display, IP67 dust and water resistance, and even stereo speakers. With the Galaxy A52 starting at Rs 26,499, this smartphone sets a benchmark for premium mid-range devices.

The Galaxy A52 is the best mid-range phone from Samsung yet. Actually, it feels a lot like a high-end phone, and in some markets, that’s the reason why it’s priced a little above the Galaxy A51. It’s a good thing then that you’re getting an excellent phone. The only disadvantage I see is that you are still getting a macro camera instead of a zoom camera, and perhaps the stereo speakers could have been louder. Other than that, the Galaxy A52 does everything right, and you can order one with your eyes closed if you’re in the market for a sub-$400 phone.

On paper, the Galaxy A52 is a fantastic phone, with a plethora of high-end features one could only dream of seeing on Samsung’s mid-range devices until last year. Just how well those specs come together in practice is something we will tell you in our full review in the next couple of days, but we think we can say with absolute certainty that Samsung has another winner of a mid-range phone in its hands, one that could outsell both the Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A51 combined.

The Galaxy A52 is a good-looking smartphone and is sure to grab eyeballs. The cameras also seem to be in line with what one should expect at this price point, going by their specifications. However, I have some reservations about the choice of processor here. Can the Galaxy A52 change my mind? Stay tuned to Gadgets 360 to find out in the full review, coming up soon.
