The Samsung Galaxy A13 5G only offers a very basic case and feels somewhat outdated in certain aspects. However, its low price and 5G functionality still make it an interesting device.
The Galaxy A13 5G is a viable option for everyone looking for a truly affordable 5G phone. However, some the manufacturer's choices make actually recommending the device difficult...

Cheap smartphones are able to offer significantly more than many years ago, making them well suited to daily tasks. The same holds true for the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G, which starts at a mere 249 USD on Amazon.com and includes supports for the latest mobile networking standard.

Unlike the Galaxy A13 4G, several corners were cut likely in an attempt to keep the price down while including a 5G modem: The display resolution is only 1600 x 720 pixels, which is outdated by today's standards even after considering the low price point.

Furthermore, there is no more wide-angle lens and the smartphone relies on sluggish eMMC storage, whereas most competitors already use faster storage: The Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro is available for a similar price and features fast UFS storage and a higher-resolution screen for a better overall impression.

Additionally, Samsung does not seem to have put any effort into designing the Galaxy A13 5G: A simple plastic case with three cameras arranged in a line is not exactly the height of smartphone design.

This is somewhat unfortunate, since the fast fingerprint sensor, the capable SoC, and the long battery life depending on the use case are otherwise a solid foundation for an entry-level to midrange phone.

Although a smartphone that supports the latest mobile communications standard 5G for just above 200 USD, the bar has been raised by Xiaomi and Motorola devices even in the lower price range. Here, the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G sometimes has a hard time keeping up.
