Reviews for the Vivo Y28

For its price, the vivo Y28 already offers a lot of features that casual and productivity users will appreciate: it has a premium feel and look, the performance is decent, and the battery lasts long. While the screen and camera could be better, they’re understandable given the affordable price tag.

The vivo Y28 has a suggested retail price of PHP 7,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It’s also available for PHP 9,999 with a higher 256GB storage option. This phone is an affordable pickup for 2024 that stands out as a slim battery heavyweight. I encourage readers to consider this if they’re looking for a well-rounded device under the entry-level segment. Here are the links to the vivo Y28 in Shopee 16 and Lazada. My personal gripes with its cameras, biometrics, and bloatware are offset by its good design, decent performance, and insane battery life. In other words, the pros outweigh the cons. If we’re here to weigh down what really matters when it comes to functional devices, the Y28 wins out.

The Vivo Y28 ticks the boxes for looks and design without a doubt. It’s got all for someone who’s all about going for a good-looking phone. But the phone has several bummers. Vivo’s choice of continuing the Helio G85 on a 25K phone is not justifiable, and you only get a 90Hz LCD panel here which is not that great. The camera experience is also pretty basic while the selfies are on a tat bit better side. If you peek at the competition, this segment has phones like Redmi Note 13 and Galaxy A15 5G with AMOLED panels and better performance.

vivo has made great strides with its Y series phones recently. The Y100 impressed us with its 80w fast charging and a bright 120hz AMOLED display, while the Y03 proved that vivo has a competitive budget phone at an under Php 5k price point. The Y28 is the latest budget offering from vivo that wants to prove that it is a great budget phone for under Php 10k.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
