Twinkly Lightwall audio-responsive LED backdrop now available
Twinkly has launched the Lightwall, a smart light which syncs to music and can be used as a stage background. You can tailor the visuals in an accompanying iOS or Android app, with twenty presets or 16.8 million colors and an extensive library of effects to choose from when creating your personalized audio-responsive light show.
The Lightwall detects music via a USB-powered sensor featuring a BPM counter. Twinkly claims this is highly accurate, working with live and pre-recorded audio. Plus, an integrated microphone interprets the type of sound and adjusts the lighting accordingly. You can link multiple Lightwalls to create a larger canvas or link the device with other Twinkly products for synced lighting through a space.
The Lightwall is splashproof, with an IP44 rating, making it suitable for use in gig venues and measures 8.6 x 9 ft (~2.6 x 2.7 m). The gadget features 1,120 LEDs across 28 drops, each with 40 LEDs; it is worth noting that, while these are not replaceable, they are expected to last over 30,000 hours. The device comes with a lightweight black aluminum frame, water weights and a controller, all housed in a suitcase to make the product easier to transport.
