It has been a few months since Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 9 and its siblings, the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. Launched in April in multiple markets, the Redmi Note 9 did not join the launch of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in India in March. However, Redmi India has now confirmed that it will announce the device on July 20 at 12:00 IST (UTC+05:30).
Dubbed the "undisputed champion", Redmi India claims that the Redmi Note 9 has best in class hardware combined with enough quality to make heads turn. Redmi India has also stressed that the Redmi Note 9 is the company's next #MadeinIndia smartphone, probably to position the device as authentically Indian rather than a device produced by its Chinese parent company, Xiaomi.
The Redmi Note 9 features a 6.53-inch IPS panel and a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC. The device can be purchased with either 64 GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM or 128 GB and 4 GB, respectively. Xiaomi has also included five cameras, with four on the back and one on the front. The Redmi Note 9 has a 5,020 mAh battery too that is capable of 18 W fast charging or delivering up to 9 W reverse charging.
