The Epic Games Store is preparing to update its free game of the week offer with a new title. This week's giveaway typically retails for $19.99 and is designed to test people's problem-solving abilities in single-player, local co-op and online co-op modes.

Today's the day when Epic Games offers up another free game. To recap, the popular storefront has been offering Turmoil from last Thursday and into this week. Now, it is the turn of Escape Academy, which marks the fifth game that Epic Games has given away this year.

Released in mid-2022, Escape Academy is primarily a single-player experience set within a dozen escape rooms. However, Coin Crew Games has also included the option of tackling puzzles in a split-screen co-op either locally or online. Unsurprisingly, puzzle complexity increases as one passes through each escape room.

Escape Academy has scored highly on OpenCritic with an average of 80/100 and 88% recommendations. System requirements are relatively low too, with Coin Crew Games only listing a DirectX 10 capable graphics card and a system that is running Windows 7 or newer as being essential. For reference, Escape Academy retails for $19.99 on the Epic Games Store with a further $14.99 for its two DLCs packaged as the Escape Academy Season Pass. The title will be free to download to your Epic Games library from 16:00 UTC today until 15:59 UTC the following Thursday. Please see the storefront's listing for more details.
