2022 was supposed to be the year of Xbox Game Pass, with several high-profile releases lined up. S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, initially pushed back to April 2022, has now been suspended indefinitely due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. That leaves gamers with the November-bound Starfield, which has now also been delayed.
Bethesda took to Twitter to announce that Starfield will now be released in the first half of 2023, meaning that one could potentially have to wait up to a year for the new RPG to hit shelves. Starfield's delay is a tad disappointing, as Bethesda is one of the best RPG makers out there. Redfall, developed by Arkane Games (of the Prey fame), will also be delayed, the announcement adds.
Nonetheless, 2022 still has several exciting releases lined up, such as Sniper Elite 5, Diablo Immortal, new Cuphead DLC, and a ton more. God of War: Ragnarok was rumoured for a 2022 launch as well, but Santa Monica Studios and Sony are yet to confirm it.
Nonetheless, it is still disappointing for Team Xbox, as the platform was to get some high-profile exclusives that rivalled Sony's offerings. But, there could be a new Forza Motorsport game later this year, so it isn't all bad.
