Now that Diablo 2 Resurrected has been out and about for a while and no tentative Diablo 4 release date in sight, fans of the franchise are a tad starved for new content. Those looking for a new game to play on PC will be pleased to know that Diablo Immortal (of the "don't you guys have phones?" fame) will be coming to PC soon, as confirmed by an official trailer.
Strictly speaking, Diablo Immortal isn't a new title in the literal sense of the word. It has been around on Android and iOS for a while, albeit in beta, and it's launch date got pushed back once. Players will soon be able to download it off their app repositories on June 2. PC players can get in on the fun, too, with an open beta starting on the same date. Registrations are now live on Blizzard's official website. Some tidbits of gameplay shown in the trailer reveal combat optimized for mobile devices.
Diablo Immortal also allows cross-play, meaning that PC players can team up with friends on mobile. One cna distinguish between mobile and PC players easily as the latter have (PC) added to their in-game name. Lore wise, Diablo Immortal is set between the events of Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, although it is unclear as to how it fits into the overall storyline. The available cast of characters are a restrcicted to Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Crusader, Monk, Necromancer and Wizard.
