Sony has started teasing the release of a mysterious new audio product. For the time being, the company has very little to say about what it has in store. Instead, it has only hinted that it has a 'new form of listening planned'.
Currently, we have only have a single video to go off. Embedded below, the video adds that Sony will unveil its new device on January 21 at 16:00 UTC. From the looks of things, the unnamed device looks like a pair of headphones that sit on one's ears rather than in them. In that sense, it seems unlikely that Sony is hinting at the long-awaited launch of the WF-1000XM6.
Based on recent leaks and rumours, Sony will not replace the WF-1000XM5 (curr. $149.99 - renewed on Amazon) until February. Conversely, The Walkman Blog believes that the teaser represents a new pair of in-ear earbuds, lending itself to rumours of a new WF-1000X release. Ultimately, the video below is up for interpretation, despite suggestions of a February launch for the WF-1000XM6.
