The Harman Kardon Soundsticks 5 previously only supported Bluetooth, but now the hi-fi specialist is introducing a Wi-Fi version that adds a built-in WLAN chip. This makes the speakers significantly more versatile, as music can now be streamed wirelessly from a smartphone, tablet or laptop via Apple AirPlay or Google Chromecast.
Music can also be played directly from streaming services via Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect. Twenty-six years after the original Harman Kardon Soundsticks were developed in collaboration with Apple, the basic design remains unchanged, including the transparent housing and RGB lighting. The audio specifications are also unchanged; the Soundsticks 5 Wi-Fi feature a total of six 40mm midrange drivers, two 25mm tweeters and a 133mm woofer, along with an amplifier delivering a total output of 190 watts.
Harman Kardon is also re-releasing the Aura Studio 5 as a Wi-Fi version. This speaker now also supports Apple AirPlay, Google Chromecast, and Spotify Connect. The Aura Studio 5 packs six 40-millimeter midrange drivers, a 25-millimeter tweeter, a 143-millimeter subwoofer, and amplifiers with a total output of 160 watts into a single speaker, which is also designed to impress with its partially transparent design and striking RGB lighting.
Prices and availability
Both the Harman Kardon Soundsticks 5 and Aura Studio 5 Wi-Fi will be available in March 2026 for £350/€380. Harman Kardon is charging an additional €20 for the Wi-Fi chip.
