Sony launches the Xperia PRO in Europe
Although it was believed that Sony had no plans to sell the Xperia PRO in Europe, this premium handset that has a scary price tag of US$2,499 in the US is now available for pre-order on this side of the planet as well. According to the official press release, the new Xperia PRO hits Europe as the world's first smartphone with dedicated HDMI input.
In addition to the "world's first" label mentioned above, the Xperia PRO sports 5G connectivity and the ability to broadcast video in real-time to an RTMP server or to popular social media platforms. The pre-installed External Monitor feature allows this device to turn into a 6.5-inch 4K OLED monitor with screen lock, brightness adjustment, zoom, adjustable grid lines, and more.
The list of common smartphone specs includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor alongside 12 GB of memory and 512 GB internal storage, Zeiss optics for reduced reflections and a triple-lens camera assembly (16 mm ultra-wide-angle, 24 mm wide-angle, and 70 mm telephoto), IP65/68 rating for water and dust resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 screen protection, as well as a 4,000 mAh battery.
