Deal: Sony's sinfully expensive Xperia Pro smartphone with HDMI input is now on sale at Amazon for the first time ever ↺
Unlike in the TV and gaming console market, there's not much doubt that Sony is an underdog in the smartphone segment. But that does not mean that the Japanese tech behemoth does not have some quite unique mobile devices targeted at certain professionals in store. Thanks to a new deal on Amazon, one particularly expensive Xperia smartphone is now seeing its first sale and price discount ever.
Amazon currently offers the unlocked Sony Xperia Pro flagship smartphone on sale for US$1,998 instead of the regular US$2,498. This amounts to a hefty 20% discount for the professional-grade smartphone with a micro HDMI port that enables connections to compatible devices, like many of Sony's reputable cameras with the Alpha branding. Apart from this rather unique feature set, the 6.5-inch Xperia Pro also offers some high-end smartphone specs.
Similarly to the Xperia 1 III, which we thoroughly put through its paces in our comprehensive review last year, the Sony Xperia Pro comes with a wide 21:9 4K HDR OLED display as well as 5G connectivity. The smartphone is further powered by the the quick Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and comes with generous 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage, which is also expendable via the microSDXC card slot. For professional photographers or videographers who are looking for a new and very capable smartphone, Amazon's deal on the Sony Xperia Pro might be worth a look.
