Sonos Roam portable speaker is compatible with Sonos voice assistant and available in three new colors
Sonos has released its Roam portable speaker in three new colors. The colorful range is unusual for the company, which generally sticks to black, white and other neutral colors. Added to the existing Roam black and white variants are Sunset (orange), Wave (blue) and Olive (green).
The features for the new speakers are the same as the existing variants. The Roam has two Class-H digital amplifiers, a tweeter and a mid-woofer for clarity and depth of sound. The gadget has been designed for portability, weighing 0.95 lb (0.43 kg) and measuring 6.61 x 2.44 x 2.36-in (168 x 62 x 60 mm).
The speaker has Trueplay tuning technology to automatically adapt the sound based on what you are playing and your environment. The Roam is IP67 rated weather-resistant, making it somewhat dust and waterproof. Plus, the gadget has 10 hours of playback time.
You can connect to the Roam via Bluetooth, and the device is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple AirPlay 2. You can control the gadget using buttons on the speaker or voice commands.
One new feature coming to the Roam will be Sonos Voice Control. Due to be released on June 1st, the feature will be an alternative voice assistant that you can use to control the device. The company claims that the tool has unmatched privacy.
You now buy the new colorways for the Roam portable speaker for US$179, the same price as the existing range. Sonos also released the Roam SL earlier this year, a paired back version of the device.
