Porsche Design has revealed the Soundbar PDB90, a speaker with 3D surround sound and an integrated subwoofer. Porsche Design is a German design studio founded by F. A. Porsche, the designer behind the original Porsche 911. The 5.1.2 soundbar has Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technologies to provide a cinema-like experience at home.
The Soundbar PDB90 has 16 drivers in total with upward-facing speakers angled at 20° for maximized 3D sound. The front speakers have both tweeter and mid-treble loudspeakers, allowing you to configure your device for MTM or TMM modes.
The speaker has four preset options like voice mode to ensure the dialogue in your content is clear. Movie, music and stadium modes optimize your content to suit each format, such as sound positioning synced with the images in a film.
You can connect to the gadget via a high-speed HDMI eARC port and an HDMI cable included in the box. Alternatively, you can connect to the Soundbar PDB90 via Bluetooth, USB or optical input, supporting 4K pass-through.
The speaker has touch buttons, or you can control the device with the accompanying remote control. The soundbar measures 88 x 210 x 1200 mm (~3.5 x 8.3 x 47-in) and can be mounted on the wall. The Porsche Design Soundbar PDB90 will be available to pre-order from June 1st for €999 (or US$1,199 or £880).
