Marshall unveils Willen and Emberton II speakers with Stack Mode feature
Marshall has announced two new portable Bluetooth speakers, Willen and Emberton II. Both devices have Stack Mode, enabling you to connect multiple speakers for amplified sound. Plus, the products are IP67 dust and water-resistant.
Willen has a 2-in 10 W full dynamic driver and two passive radiators, delivering up to 82 dB SPL at 1 m (~3.3 ft). The gadget can last for over 15 hours between charges, with a total charge time of three hours. The device is the smaller of the two speakers, measuring 101.6 x 100.5 x 40.4 mm (4 x 3.96 x 1.59-in) and weighing 0.31 kg (0.68 lbs).
Emberton II is an upgraded version of the Emberton speaker. The newer gadget has 30 hours of battery life compared to the 20 hours of its predecessor. Like Willen, the device has a 2-in driver, this time delivering up to 87 dB SPL at 1 m (~3.3 ft).
Another difference between Emberton II and Willen is its True Stereophonic sound for a 360° experience. Willen measures 68 x 160 x 76 mm (2.68 x 6.30 x 2.99-in) and weighs 0.7 kg (1.5 lbs).
You can control the gadgets via buttons on the device or via a Bluetooth app. It’s worth noting that, while the speakers have a built-in microphone, you can not control them with voice commands.
You can now pre-order the Marshall Emberton II portable speakers for US$169.99 in North America and Europe. The gadget is due to ship on May 10th. The Marshall Willen speaker is available in North America for US$119.99 and will ship from June 2nd. Willen is expected to be released in Europe this summer.
