Astell&Kern reveals KANN Max portable music player with Quad-DAC
Astell&Kern has revealed the KANN Max portable music player, developed with high-quality, clear sound at the fore. The gadget has four levels of gain and a 15 Vrms maximum output.
The KANN Max achieves high-quality sound thanks to an ESS ES9038Q2M Quad-DAC module and TERATON ALPHA audio technology, minimizing distortion. Native DSD512 up to 22.4 MHz and bit-to-bit playback up to 32-bit/768 kHz are supported.
The player has a ReplayGain feature to automatically equalize the volume across tracks. You can connect to the device via Bluetooth 5.0, with LDAC and aptX HD support for high-quality wireless listening
Plus, the AK File Drop tool allows you to transfer files to the device wirelessly. A 5,600 mAh battery provides 13 hours of continuous playback time, and the gadget can fully charge via a 15 W USB-C charge in 3.5 hours.
The KANN Max builds on the KANN series as a more compact device; the player measures 2.7 x 4.6 x 0.9-in (68.3 x 117 x 23.6 mm) and weighs 10.76 oz (305 g). The gadget has a 4.1-in (~10.4 cm) 720p touchscreen and a volume wheel on one side. The Astell&Kern KANN Max portable music player will launch in mid-June for US$1,300.
