IFA 2019 | Schenker announces the XMG Fusion 15, Europe's answer to the Eluktronics MAG-15
The XMG Fusion 15 is Europe's answer to the Eluktronics MAG-15, the US$1,499 15.6-inch gaming laptop that we covered earlier this week and which popular YouTuber Dave Lee recently called "the impossible gaming laptop". Schenker has been teasing its new XMG laptop online over the last few days, with it unveiling the device today at IFA 2019 in Berlin.
Schenker has collaborated with Intel on the design of the XMG Fusion 15, which weighs 1.88 kg and measures 356 x 233 x 20 mm. The compact gaming laptop includes a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS panel that can operate at up to 144 Hz with what Schenker promises to be 90% sRGB colour space coverage. Under the hood is an Intel Core i7-9750H processor and a choice between an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti or GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU. Powering both components is a 94 Wh battery, which Schenker claims will last up to 10 hours between charges.
The AZ91D magnesium alloy chassis also houses a host of ports including Thunderbolt 3, RJ45 LAN and a full-sized SD card reader. There are three USB Type-A ports too, which all operate on the modern USB 3.1 standard. The XMG Fusion 15 can be configured with up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM, with all SKUs coming with an Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 module as standard, along with dedicated microphone in and audio out jacks.
The XMG Fusion 15 should have enough RGB lighting to satisfy most gamers, with Schenker including a wide LED strip on the front of the device and a zonal backlit mechanical keyboard. The Schenker XMG Fusion 15 will officially launch on September 17 and will offer free shipping within the EU. There is currently no word on pricing.
