When Samsung announced the Galaxy Fit 3 in February, 2024, as the latest model in its fitness tracker lineup which hadn't been renewed in almost four years, it surprisingly left the US out of the markets the device was officially available in. Now, a year later, it has rescinded that decision and announced the fitness tracker will now be officially sold in the US.
The Galaxy Fit 3 will be available to buy on Samsung's website as well as partner stores starting on January 9, 2025. It will cost $59.99, less than half the price of the Galaxy Watch FE, which is Samsung's cheapest smartwatch (curr. available on Amazon for $159.99).
However, while the Galaxy Fit 3 is a fitness tracker, unlike the full-fledged smartwatch that the Galaxy Watch FE is, both wearables have a handful of features in common. In addition to heart rate and stress level measurement, the Galaxy Fit 3 has sleep tracking with sleep coaching, snoring detection, and can monitor blood oxygen saturation levels. The fitness tracker also has personalized tracking for over 100 workouts.
Other features of the Galaxy Fit 3 include an AMOLED AOD display, an ambient light sensor, a barometer, and an aluminum case with a matte finish. It has both an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and a 5ATM rating and its battery can last up to 13 days on a single charge, which might make it more appealing than a full-fledged smartwatch that can barely last a day before needing a recharge.
It can also control playback on the connected device, reply to texts, and serve as a remote for your phone's camera. When there's an emergency, owners can push the home button five times to notify emergency contacts.
Samsung will offer the Galaxy Fit 3 in Gray, Silver, and Pink when it becomes available to buy on January 9.
