Samsung is rumored to introduce a new (or new-ish) line of Galaxy C-series Android smartphones in 2024. Its alleged inaugural member may have surfaced on Geekbench, thereby adding to the growing body of evidence that it does in fact exist and will be available soon. Should that be the case, it might debut with a 120Hz AMOLED display and 50MP main camera.

Apparently not content with the Galaxy M, Galaxy A and Galaxy F lines of smartphones, Samsung is said to unleash their Galaxy C counterpart in 2024. It is believed to kick off with the C55 5G later this year.

It is thought to launch under that name thanks to leaks pointing to the imminent launch of a device called the Samsung SM-C5560. Now, that model number has popped up again, on Geekbench this time.

The new tip may reveal more about the smartphone, including that it might debut with One UI based on Android 14 and have an 8GB RAM variant.

Its platform has been detected as an 8-core CPU with the code-name walt, which typically indicates the presence of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC - same as the freshly-launched Galaxy M55.

Presuming the 2 devices have more in common, the C55 might also thus benefit from a decently-sized 5,000mAh battery for a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, as offered by the M55 5G for INR 26,999 (~$323) on Amazon India.
